Captain Wolverine - October 13, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
Well it has been suggested that I should do my Titan in it own thread, so here it is.

This will be a slow and stead progress so I can can continue paint my other models while trying to complete this titanic project.

I have just spent the last 2 hour cleaning the bloody thing:

Unclean titan:

KayvaanShrike - October 16, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)

Yep I am gonna paint the inside there is no way I am spending £280 on a model and not paint it all :)

Looking really good Wolverine, be great to see you pick out the detail!

Well jase this is a big project and not evryone has seen the tita so I am giving them all they need.

Deadley Hedley - October 16, 2007 09:47 PM (GMT)
Looking good wolfie ,Paint the inside it would be a shame not to ;)

Captain Wolverine - October 16, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
I promised you Deadley and everyone reading I am not gonna spend £280 and not paint the insides.

When Black Roses Bloom - October 17, 2007 07:53 AM (GMT)
I don't want to criticize Wolverine's buy or work, but as these are the clearest pictures of the interior I've seen, I must say that the interior, although it seems detailed enough, is not what I expected. The floor seems a little out of place, like the moulds were made by plasticard plates, piled up one upon the other. It seems like the plasticard was a little bit curved on the top of it, making the deck level to look like it's going to burst. Again I say that this might look like this from the pictures and the lights, and it might not be the case.

An other thing that I found cheap enough, is the use of the rhino chassis door, on the back of the servitors and the machine god's chapel. I mean, ok about the STCs and stuff, but it's a Titan! I mean if HAS to have a different door.

Anyway, these are my thoughts, because Cpt. said about the 280 pound price. Again, I meant no offence to him or his choice.

Captain Wolverine - October 17, 2007 08:35 AM (GMT)
No offence taken Rose each to his own opinions.

Not sure what you mean about plasticard floors? The Titan is old pinned together and not stuck that maybe cuasing this distortion your talking about also my camera skills and lighting ain't the best.

It is a really nice model in RL well worth the £280 but each to his own as I said.

When Black Roses Bloom - October 17, 2007 09:44 AM (GMT)
By all means, I am not jealus (well, a little bit :P). Who wouldn't want to own one o'those things, or be able to make them? So, to the point.

As you can see at the picture below, where the red lines are drawn, the floor at those corners seems like it's lifted somehow, like it's a plasticard sheet, cutted and fitted on top of a surface that it's not flat, but curved. The horizontal red line, indicated how I see it, how my eye sees the curve. I told you again, maybe I am mistaken, but that's how I see it. I will have a Thunderhawk at my home the next few days, and I'll see firsthand the detailing on cast resin models.

Captain Wolverine - October 17, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
That is just a point in which two parts meet, I can say there is no curve there must just be the light and also you won't see that when it is open because there is a door to go there, right over that spot.

Bloom I took no offence you are just saying what you saw.

heres another picture of the inside of a warhound:

I see what you mean, however it may just be a flaw in the modelling or be a deliberate curve. If you look at the steps infront/behind they have "nonslip" metal and metal edge details on their lip. The curved step may well have been modelled as old stone, like in a really old church where the centre of the step will gradually wear down over time. Titans are ancient after all. Then again I might just be talking bollocks!

Wolvie, are you going to run some wip pinning and glueing photos, to give some of us thinking about large resin models an idea as to how much work is required. I have never built anyhting as large and would like advice on pin length/diameter and what exactly you pin compared to what you just super glue. Give me an inch and I will want a full nautical mile!

I can't wait to see it all done and primed for painting, any thoughts on what scheme it will be decorated in? Are you a brush man or do you use airbrush for large models?

A nice leopard skin effect, with some pink dangling dice in the cockpit, a sticker "wayne 4 debbie" in the window would set it off nicely! Don't forget the plasma screen and xbox 360 in the boot, oh wait, this isn't pimp my titan now is it?

Captain Wolverine - October 17, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
I promise you it ain't curved and you won't see it.

Gonzo I will take a few pics of the pins I have done so far.

But how and where to pin is all down to experince.

Captain Wolverine - October 17, 2007 04:30 PM (GMT)
Well here are a few pic some with red circles indicating where I have put pins also please remember that thay are not stuck together and there will be green stuffing to do to certain joins;
