Title: Different Style of Leman Russ?
Description: Fed up with a 15 year old model...

I've recently decided to upgrade all my tanks in my current guard army. My chimera will look some thing like this (note this is WIP):

Now my problem is the leman russ. I hate it. It's too tall. too old - just too urgh! lol

I have an idea to create a lower profile russ using chimera sides, extend the tracks (like on the chimera) and add the center russ hull cut down so I still have the turret ring. The turret would be a FW style wide style.

Unfortunately I'm still saving for the parts to carry this idea out however does anyone have any other ideas?

how about making little Malcadors and using thenm for russ's? I like your chimera

You could use a Chimera Base for your Russ, alot around, including the one I'm working on for my Kampfen

Why not widen then russ body to make it look less top heavy?

I think just widen tracks isn't enough these days. I see alot of it hence the idea to create a different chassis...

I saw this thread on warseer about making a WII German STuG out of a chimera and russ. This has given me an idea.

http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t...&highlight=stug

Idea:

Change the sides to the same style I've created in the chimera above. Add the sponsons from a russ kit and keep the same chassis build in the STuG I could simply add a widen russ turret to the chassis ring.

What do you think?
