Title: Terry Wogan threatens to quit
Description: Eurovision gone bad?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7418940.stmWe've always had a Eurovision party taking the [tinkle] and getting drunk, but Terry's hit the nail on the head, its no longer about the song, its political. Should we pull the plug?

I'm really sorry for you guys... but I wouldn't worry. Poland - my country never won in eurovision (at least I don't remember) we always had lousy songs performed by "artists" who could torture irqi prisoners with their singing. To be honest I never liked eurovision. If you are making a song it should mean something and making a song for a contest (like most people do for eurovision) takes all the good vibes out of it.
By the way what are you doing so late (or early)... and what am I??? it's 2:45 in the morning here...

Its 08:46am Sunday here!
The Polish entry like the Greek one was American, when was the USA in Europe? ;)

There is an alternative view to take of the bloc voting; it's not political, it's cultural. Put yourself in the shoes of these Balkan and Eastern bloc countries, who all share a similar cultural heritage; are you going to vote for Britain, or your neighbour, with whom you have these cultural links?
The result's the same though, it's not about the song.
It's just that t's gone beyond a joke now; it was funny for a few years, but now the whole voting process has just become so ludicrously predictable.
I'm also worried about what messages that victory will send out to Russia; they're becoming worryingly confident as it is, and this may just increase their own sense of self-importance as it shows all of Europe voting for them (maybe I'm overexagerating how seriously they take this though).
I really feel sorry for the nordic countries, as I think that overall their entries were the strongest of all the blocs, and they got nowhere.

Been on the Eurovision form this morning to see what the feedback was like. Its horrendous, not just the block voting, but the winning song was the same as the Greek entry in 2001! Thats illegal
Best idea I've seen is it should be run the same as the Football European finals, so we get only 2/3 per block in the finals

I thought Russia got it, they're holding it there next year aren't they?
I have no interest in it, that's just what I was told that Russia got it.

 Good Lord Jase!!! You only JUST figured that out!!!!
Western European countries no longer stand a cat in hell's chance of winning this EVER again under the current set up. Perhaps were we to enter England, Scotland, Wales N.Ireland, we MAY just end up with about 50 points! lol
Fact is, EVERYONE hates us anyway!
