So I suppose I should probably explain who I am..

Ok, to start, with my name is John, I life in the good old UK - Portsmouth to be exact...I'm 22 and currently on my placement year with IBM even though that is about to finish and then its back to studying for my degree (studying yeah right). Im married and my wife has just finished and about to get her first proper big person's job...

Anyways thats the basic boring how do you do stuff..now on to what you probably all want to know..

I collect guard...oh and high elves.

Over the years I've had a metal guard army which i painted soo badly i could never use

High elf army that i painted badly and came from the 2nd starter set so looked bad as well so i never used them either. ( i started collecting warhammer when argos still sold the starter box sets)

A Dwarf army that i acquired and have no idea where it went-
( i think i may have given them to a friend)

A small Empire army that went down the same route

A white scar force that I sold as i never got round to painting them.

Years past involving beer and sex...

Since then I have brought a set of plastic cadians which i've been slowly converting into stormtroopers/inquisitor revenues...along with bitz that have taken my fancy..i've always liked stormbolters....they do look like meaty guns..

and a new high elf army which my wife brought me that i really must start assembling at some point...

To tell the truth i think over the 8 yrs i've been into warhammer I've only ever played perhaps 2 games off each and none of those was pointed..I've also been to like 2 golden daemons but they get a liddle bit tedious by yourself.

Im not entitely sure as im sure they were in a figure box in my room..

perhaps I had a localised warp storm that 'acquired' them...or perhaps my parents thought I had too much and sold them..

I do believe there is a small warp storm following me as things of importance do disappear and return deformed months later.

Welcome to the board mate :) I think quite a few of us on here can understand the "beer and sex" part! Looking forward to seeing some of these Stormtroopers, quite a few folks from the forum will be meeting up at Games Day this year if that interests you.

As for the metal guard, have you thought about stripping them? There should be a guide to doing that kicking around, various cleaning products (and brake fluid) work for metals and plastics.

Feel free to start up a log and make yourself at home :)

I stripped them once and they sat in the jay for months...so in the end I sold the lot of them as well as most of the stuff I had so that I could start a fresh...there isn't anything worse than dated elfs...those horses look tiny..

I know into the modeling aspect....currently playing around with elyrian reavers using the horses from the new high elf chariots...they look like they are actually charging rather than going for a nice summer stroll.
