piccie available of the plastic drop pod here http://warseer.com/forums/attachment.php?a...51&d=1211151948

nice! :)

Rictus - May 19, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
It looks quite fat and squat compared to the FW ones. Suppose it has to be if it is to carry 10 troopers.

Deadley will be happy.

Rictus - May 19, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)

Old Guard - May 19, 2008 09:01 PM (GMT)

the_great_gonzo - May 19, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
Oh well then. looks like 2009 will be the year of griffons, of the howling variety for me then (deepstriking droppoding sexiness!)

Tepok - May 19, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
Ha, I've waited three years for these to come out :D Thank Gork that they carry 10 guys instead of 5.
Anyone got a clue for pricing? £20??

@Rictus: From the subforum description:
'Got something to say that doesn't fit in any of the other forums? This is the place for the friendly discussion of everything else!'

Surely a rumour about a new 40k release fits perfectly into the 40k subforum, and thus should not go in here. Furthermore, several rumour threads in the past have been moved from here into their relevant subforums in gaming and rules, and so I thought I;d cut out the middleman this time.

SO THERE! HAH!

charlie_c67 - May 19, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
It has five sides people! More than a little different from the FW I believe. And since when did they have missile launchers people are banging on about?

Daemon-Forge - May 19, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
i agree with Arhalien,
when i had a 40k releated rumour/pic of a upcoming model it got moved to the 40k area of the site,

cant wait to get my hands on a few tho, drop comes my Orks and my Renegade militas

I am happy :D fingers crossed they will be out for GD ;) plus ive heard 18 pound each but who knows ,so that would be 180 pound on drop pods for my marines :o

Arhalien - May 19, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
And just when we thought his Dark Angels were soon to be finished.. :( :P

That would be the deathwind varient - either assualt cannon or missile launcher payload instead of marines. They have been around in the fluff since OOOHH about the mid 1990s...

Not just that, you can upgrade your stormbolter to a pie plate for a small amount of points >9 <11 ;) Not very strong or effective, but it can be done.

I like the look of it, and it seems to me that if you take the middle out it would be useful as a dred pod too.

Hah! Clean rip outta the rulebook! Yes, I have seen the awesome.

Anywho, yeah, looks nice. Might have to get some for my Templars in July.

You and every other Marine player out there...

I wonder if you'll have the option to turn it into a Deathwind, or a Dreadnought-pod though. At anyrate, it's nice to see it making an appearance in plastic at long last!

highmarshaldave - May 20, 2008 11:12 AM (GMT)
Aye, but I get two for the price of one, lol.

Erm, honestly dude, I don't know. The deathwind conversion wouldn't be too hard (thanks mostly to the Ravenwing sprue) but I don't thind the pentagonal door formation would work, even with the widened doors. In saying that, I don't think too many people would object to having to get a single Forgeworld Dreadnought pod if all their infantry ones were to he £20 a go plastic things.

Dave out.

TheGrizz - May 20, 2008 11:18 AM (GMT)
Very true. Chances are, you'd only need one 'pod for your Dread anyway, so I don't think it'd kill me to have the knowledge that FW are still going to be the only ones offering it...

Two for the price of one though... you lucky sod! ;)

brambleten - May 20, 2008 12:27 PM (GMT)
ooh, my soul drinkers get some transport!

Cooper - May 20, 2008 12:33 PM (GMT)
Thanks for posting the image, Sheep. :)

EDIT: It looks good. I might get one.

Yeah I know about that, but I thought it was more along the lines of this rather than holding marines as well.
