Put simply, a thread to explain your avatars, as there are a number (bram...) that I, and I presume other people, are somewhat confused about.

To get the ball rolling, mine is Ian Anderson, lead singer, flautist, acousting guitarist and general nutjob of the 70s Prog-rock/rock group Jethro Tull; one of my favourites :)

So, over to you!

My avatar is the Sigil of Baphomet, the icon of the Church of Satan.
Although the mass media generally portray Satanists as baby eating scum bags, I don't eat babies.


They give me indigestion. :P

I happened across my avatar, a nice old lady enjoying a picnic. clearly she is an athlete, look at the definition on her quads and glutes!

Personally I change my avatar as and when, usually when I come accross something that makes me smile. No effort, no hastle.

Mine is the symbol of my IG army, the 11th Vostroyan Imperial Artillery Regiment.

In the middle is a bomb and fuse which represents artillery. The 11 is placed inside the bomb.
The larger symbol includes wings coming from the sides of the "V".

Ya...so back in the dark days of yore I used to end all my posts with:

At this time I often changed my avatar at will but I eventually came to truly embrace my dirty hippie northern California background as portrayed in my posts and have since transformed it into John Lennon. Only reason I will change my avatar now is to alter the image slightly, especially since I know how easily to with Photoshop now.

Besides, I admire a man who wants to solve the world's problems by just having a lot of sex. I mean, really, what else do we need? :lol:

I change avatars and sigs at random, but I usually try and keep them similar or part of the same thing.
My current avatar is a CIA agent cleverly disguised as a block of flats so he could spy on people in Russia. Or maybe its the head of a giant robot. Or just a building that has a face. Take your pick.

mines the logo of the levellers, a dodgy folk, rock band from brighton with some interesting social commentry (form the earlier albums) and are one of my favorite bands (together with therepy? and the manics). it was origionally the norwich city logo but the footie season is over so a quick change for the summer was in order

I always had a soft spot for the Hampsters. The only pair of cufflinks I own have the penguin on them so he gets commented on quite a lot

And back on topic, my avatar, like other's, is just something that amuses me. I guess it could also be a stab at those who take themselves too seriously. We are afterall, on a forum talking about model soldiers and such, no-one can really claim to be above another.
