Well I am looking at getting some mig paints/er pigments to weather some of my models and before I take the plunge ans spend serious money on them does anyone here use them and if so is there a package deal you suggest? (I'm looking at the boxed packs so far)
I have a spare dark brown you want to trade? They are brilliant bits of kit, you can absolutely mint up a model with them. SC is the one you want to be speakez with...
Oh, well like I stated just wanted to know if I'm going to make a big mistake getting Mig Pigments then some other brand.
I know people are going to leap in and say "There are other brands". Which is true, but just because something is true doesn't make it right. Vanessa Feltz for a prime example.
MIG are good because they are a powder, you can get weathering kits that are blocks and more like make up, but they are not as good for brush application, which is what you want.
MIG are also extremely versatile for adding to other chemicals and things to create more stuff. Good old British thinking, combine smaller things to create one big thing, better overall than the original things. Mud. (Al Murray paraphrased heavily there).
Anyway, should you decide to buy some, I'll stick a tutorial up as there are a few people asking me at the moment, Hell, I'll do it anyway, that's the sort of guy I am...
(A [foolish person]).

The MIG stuff is good, but due to the fact its powder it can get a little messy. With practice you can get some great effects with them for various things.
You can get them from other companies, but if you are just getting into it you should go for the MIG stuff as they are finer and easier to use.
The Tamiya Weathering Masters are a common one which people also suggest, but I'm gonna have to suggest agaisnt them. While they are fairly good, you don't get much in the block, they are kinda waxy feeling too so you end up with them rubbing off or getting fingerprints on them.
So yeh, you wont be going wrong with them.
