Well, for those that do not know The Ammo Bunker had a little game over the weekend...




In total we had twelve tables all lined up...so many in fact I couldn't get them all in one shot.

First half of the table with Jases' tanks already set up facing off against the Skelly Guard of Digits. The awesome ruined cathedral and ruined city which gives way to...

Opened grasslands and a Tau outpost (though ironically no actual Tau...)

That's 288 square foot of playing area. There were four objectives, the Tau outpost, the ruined Imperial Cathedral, the Necron Pyramid thingy and Old Guards Imperial Emplacement (in the corner you can't see in the pictures above).

After those who wanted in from the beginning had set up the first turn got underway:

Skelly Guard face off agains Marines and loyal Gaurdsman.


In the centre Nids move forward through the ruins to get to Marines from three different chapters and Guard, who appear to be cowering behind a bubble wrap smokescreen. Cowards.


Inquisition forces moving against Skelly Gaurd, allied with Eldar which is surely a heretical action in itself. They should flog themselves as punishment, or better yet be impaled on something. A sharpened fish perhaps.


Traitor Guard move against the loyalist Armoured Company who...


are defending the Imperial gun position/command bunker.


And at the far end of the table Traitor Marines and Gaurd take on another Marine chapter.

At the end of the first turn the table looked like this:

:angry: OMG this is turning into a 'wheres waldo' like spot Old Guard's white wine gut (I dont drink beer that much any more) :angry:

By his belly shall ye know him! (if anyone sigs that I'll kick their arse at the next bash) :angry: ;)

After a break for food turn two got going:


The Armoured Comp moves ever onward, thoughreinforcements have arrived in the force of a couple of 'Liths (well it is there pyramid, what do you expect?) and even worse some traitor Marines (in blue?) turn up right where you don't want a power fist to appear.


More reinforcements of the pointy eared kind arrive to face the take on the Traitor Marines and Guard across the Tau Outpost (abondoned obviously).



Tanks clash, nice.


Centre boards, Gaurd, Marines, Nids and the Liths go at it like the child Gloop in a chocolate factory.


And another shot of the Eldar no doubt trying to claim the world as another one of there 'this is really ours, we just left it alone for a few millenia to let the bushes grow how we like them'.

End phase, turn three.

Tanks continue to mix it up, like a demolition derby but without the smell of petrol *

And all through this we had a little friend sitting by the side of the table just waiting for an Ork player to turn up...

Shame on you Orks for not showing up, shame on you.

At the end of the day it was a close run thing but the Imperial forces just edged it out by claiming more of the objectives.

Out of curiosity, who's Stompa was that? Don't recall having seen it before :S

The Stompa, the Heirophant and three Baneblades were kindly loaned to us by GW themselves. Normally they sit in cabinets in the WHW store.

Two of them were down the other end of the table (part of Sams Traitor Gaurd) while the third - the Black one I think was opposite you.

Ah! OK. Black and a silver across from me. Thought I didn't recognise one of them.

A titan would've been nice on our side too ;). But then we did have half the Dark Angels chapter there it seemed....

Shame we didn't get any pics of the scouts swarming the fex, the scouts taking down a ravener, the scouts that took out the Brood Lord. The scouts that....you get the idea. I'm sure we've wiped out a few generations of wrriors there.

The smell of geek has almost left the house, but as Jase is still living here (only just) i guess it will linger on!
Apart from having to actually ATTEND the open bash, where i was simply DAZZLED by the joy, anticipation and excitement of the apocolypse battle ('Jase when is it startin?', 'it has love, half hour ago!'), i actually had quite a good time with you all, but then again with so many nerds to bash, how could i not enjoy it?

Was there any progress on AB backpacks, by the way? I remember Asmodai Dark saying something about trying to have them ready for the Open day.

There was a slight communications break down between me and AJ (he thought I wouldnt have time to get them cast so stopped working on them for awhile) but last time we spoke hes resculpting a flap on a pouch because hes not happy with it - Im looking now at the latest the end of June but I doubt it'll be that long as both me and AJ are soon finished for the summer. Ive not heard off Rens so hes probably forgot again and Im going to have a stab at one over the next few weeks.

You got young right ;) Anyway, you wouldn't Because if we ever do meet you'll be dazzled by my charm and personality :D
