I hate it every time someone starts BT as it reminds me of the years I spent collecting mine before I sold them in a moment of weakness! lol

None the less, you have quite a sharp eye on you, I always struggled with the shoulder pads. May I offer a small tip though? I think you need to add a highlight to the red you are using. Perhaps a touch of thinned bllod red. Being black, you need something to stand appart from it, if you know what I mean?

I spray the side bits blac, and the base. Just need to get some new paint to paint the inside. :D

I just wanted to make sure, a 1:35 model. Such as a tank. Is the right size for GamesWorkshop minitures... right?

The reason I ask is because I got this nice tank for my Chaos Guard.



I thought I would be good for a Chimera or Leman Russ. It turns out its not...








Its perfect for a Baneblade. With a little plasticard and TLC it could become a Baneblade.

Oh, I brought it for £6.99 at Modelzone. Sale. There are models in the sale that could be Leman Russes too, that are £9.99.

Next time I'm picking up; a few tanks that are going to be Chimera's. They look pretty sweet. :)

You'll find it slightly larger than a chimera, the IG scale is more like 1/40, buts its close enough!

nice looking black templars, i've tried to get into space marines but always found myself coming back to the IG (more tanks :) ).

if i remember right from my epic days (15 years ago) that a chimera with a battle cannon was called a chimedon but ii think yours might be a bit different

i noticed that on your wanted section that you were after plasticard and barbed wire, i've just got some off barrule and it's quite good and came really quickly and the prices were relativly cheap

I should be starting next weekend and my brother will be teaching me the basics. Sweet.

With the Gaurd list it looks like you have just picked the things you like the look of (which is not a bad thing) but how does the units fit together in the army you will be fielding?

Is this going to be for regualr 40k games or only going to be fielded in Apoc games? If the former you obviously have too many options in certain areas. Are you using Doctrines as these will effect what the choices you have - espeically in the Elites section.

Techpries Enginseers in a Chaos force - how are you thinking of doing these?

How are you getting five man squads as troops? Are you fielding infantry platoons as these come with a five man command squad and then ten man infantry squads? Or are you fielding Grenadiers - this would involve taking doctinres but this only allows three Grenadier squads to be taken in the Troops section.

It's hard to really comment on your list without knowing how you want to field them or how the units are really organised.

If you are going to be using the full army in Apoc then just go for it and build everything that you fancy as Apoc does not use the force organisation chart but if you want to play an army in regular games you need to decide how the army will be fielded and what options you want to take including doctrines.

I've been working on a few idea's (in my mind, lol) on how to convert IG into Chaos...

Well, instead of normal legs on Heavy Weapon teams... I'm thinking of small wheels (like wheelchairs) and maybe slugs. That's all from me about that. :P


Can my army have banners in each regiment to show what they are part of? Or even that banners stuck into "mud" (bases. :P) and just taken with them?

Think I found a local shop that sells Plasticard/Wire/Rods and other stuff. So I'm hoping to take a look and see if he does stock that. That way I can get to work on finishing the Land Speeders.
