(sorry for the wierd title; there have been a couple of threads with that title on Warseer and I'm lazy :P)

Anyway, in LackofBettername's thread in general banter about getting out of the hobby, we seem to be getting a gay dating banner advert from Google. Personally I feel that this, along with the military singles advert is largely inappropriate for the site, and I was wondering if it would be possible to remove them; Nick on Warseer seems to have turned off all the pictorial Google adverts somehow so maybe this would be possible here?

The main problem is that we have to pay to get those adverts removed - Even warseer does, hence why it has a guildership. This sucks and the mods have been paying for it to be removed for the early months but were now looking at other ways to keep the ads off - backpacks t-shirts.

Vee might be able to shed a little more light on why we're getting the ads we are...

Its to do with whats written in a thread. You wrote "Crazy arse adverts" as the title... if you now look at what the adverts are some are displayed like...

Think its been said, but I'll shine a light on it a bit better.

Success killed off paying for Ad removal, first 4 months we were paying a £5 a month, January is was £20 a week! more successful this site gets Ad removal increases. As its been said Vee is looking long term into it, its bugging us all.

So far as I can tell most of the Ads that appear on forums like this are picked automatically based on keywords that have appeared in the thread they appear in - thus many of them relate to weaponry etc, and on threads that have got a bit out of hand and innuendo filled advertise millitary singles

Well as we are on about funny ads and soforth at the time of writing one of the ads is to buy 'Big Wet F***y'! Will the adds go away with the new zeta board?

How about doing a subscription fee to the site? £2 a month? And for that you get a custom title?

Something along those lines for people who want to support?

looks like that 'sexy sounds' thing is a tenacious little B*****d briefly this morning the usual advertising garbage was back and this reasserted itself. I think you mod types have a bit of a battle on your hands <_<

Its being worked on, I tried to purchase ad removal this morning as a tempory measure, but its not loading. Think Invision has been hit by the bot infestation big time

i just saw several porn ads at the bottom of the screen. and honestly, porn ads is not what i want staring me in the face while i try to read the logs... i can find pron on my own if i want to.

so how is this ad-block coming? i dont mind ads, but these trash-ads are annoying. it would be grea if you guys could turn down some of them.
