Title: Plastic Vanquisher

I've had this idea of using the baneblade cannon on a russ for ages now. Today was the first chance I got to have a go at it.

I recently saw the sponson roofs used like this somewhere and I have shamelessy looted the idea, so if anyone knows who did it, well done you!
I also felt the turret needed a little tweaking.

nicely done that man, can I request a good side view.. it'll help see how big the turret and cannon look compared to the hull.
I reckon it could do with a nice bit of track guard to help bulk out the tracks and keep it in form withthe larger turret.
what're you planning with that white sheet of placky card between the barrel and the hull..?

Very good, and well executed. The only improvement I would suggest is either larger tracks, or some form of armour/track guards to make it more realistic-looking. :)

Aye this is making wednesday as is hopefully another russ, doubt I can get a third built in time.
Next I want to try and do a M3 grant/lee thing and swithc the battlecannon and lascannon around.

I think that looks pretty damn good actually, it just still suffers from crowded-turret syndrome (where the loading and gun mechanism would never fit in that size). with a Gun that big I think the turret deserves some extra bulk somehow.
With your neat plasticard work that shouldn't pose too large a porblem if you were up to it.
one possibility could be to remove the stowage at back; plasticard-out the back (and move the hatch ring back too, with a PC top to cover the old hole) then replace the stowage..

Loving this conversion....the view of the turret from the front reminds me of a king tiger.

I agree about the turret. I'd be tempted to remove "soft" stowage and replace with the ammo box like the one you have lying down on the back. It will look a little more "structural".
I love sand bags and think a few on the turret would look good. I also think that to detract from the sponsonless sides, some bulked out soft stowage would look cool.
Appart from that, fantastic model, I really think it works well.
