Title: Can someone identify this guy
Description: with a painted example even?

Got this little fella in a trade last year. I've been meaning to put him up so I can get him identified. Anyway, his tab (under his feet) says he's "Squat Adv" on one side, "GW 1989" on the other.

Now I gather he's a squat adventurer cast in 1989, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any fully painted examples I can use for a reference etc?

Here's what he looks like as I got him:

If it were not for the name on the tab, I'd have to say that wooden water bottle and cloth roll make him look more like a fantasy adventurer!

That is definately a space dwarf adventurer, gw did several different models in this range that included humans and eldar too. i remember seeing an ad for them in a really old WD, all the models were painted in really garish bright colours.
Unfortunately all my old WD's are tightly packed away in a big cupboard, which i am unable to get to :(
Nice to see an old lead squat, shame it's one of the lamer ones :D

It's funny how the old RT era mini's could almost fit into both categories, at least for the Squats. I spent a good hour or two last night pouring through the Stuff of Legend site. Some those RT models are awesome (not the SM stuff, just the humans, Squats etc.).

I noticed the Ambull looks a hell of a lot like a D&D Umber Hulk :D Now I finally know what a Zoat's supposed to look like too :)

Well, thanks to Flackjacket and a couple of others confirming it I at least know where he 'fits into' the GW universe. I think he'll make a fine addition to my Bunker29 range :)
I do think I found a pic of him on Stuff of Legends last night, but I'll be buggered if I can find the pic or the link this morning :( If the pic and my armless mini are the same, he was to be armed with an under/over shotgun, not a bad idea to recreate. Would have been nicer if he'd come with arms when I got, but them's the brakes.

A dude on another Forum found this for me:
Here be tiny dragons...... turn back!!

Now I wanna collect them all :D
