Still learning - January 26, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
Since there has been a mass-warseer exodus to here I may as well start posting my work here as well.

Here is my Senior command Hot from my painting table. They took awhile but I think the results are worth it.

They are going on ebay tmrw night if anyone is interested:

Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

They look awesome! The photography is really great too!

I see you picked up on the irony of my name, but I was once still learning and to some extent still am!

The leather was done by slowly adding bestial brown to scorchbrown and layering up. I did several really thin ink washes now and again to help blend the colours and give it that it that shine. Don't worry if its too shiny as when you put dull coat on, you loose alot of it.

Thanks for replies guys!

They look really good mate. The shading and blending on the coats etc is awesome, and the highlighting is nice and subtle as well.

Btw there is a large pic limit on these forums, not just four, so you can post more than the four images in one post ok! (The limit is 10 IIRC)

Still learning - January 28, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
Really, I can post mroe than 4!!! wow!

They are loverly! one question, why do all the great kreig miniatures have snow on the bases? not a moan, more a question!

It's the obvious german connection and the fighting in Russia during WW2.

Personally I'm tempted to paint Krieg as desert or western front. Snow is a very nice weathering effect though.

the_great_gonzo - February 2, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
Oh!

I always thought Kreig were based on WW1 germans (trench coats, gas masks and trenches!) not WW2 jerries? Must be my mistake!

They still look good though, very prussian, gonzo...

Dracomancer - February 2, 2008 10:23 PM (GMT)
Actually, the pined back trench coats strike me as more WW1 French than anything...

Sexy models there mate ;).

Still learning - February 3, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
I think they take influence from all 3, French, World war 1 and 2 german's/prussians.

I just really added snow because it makes the bases abit more interesting.

Could make choosing a language for GCSE easier ... :ph43r:

charlie_c67 - February 3, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
Yeah freman or gench would be interesting, along with pornish or spatunese...

Zaamel - February 3, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
Looking extremely good, only jinx I see is you appear to have missed to paint a part of the banner bearers torso, this could be the photo angle though.

Howd you do the mud?
