Heya folks,
I'm duly considering buying some of the classic autocannon heavy weapons- ie the metal ones- and I was wondering if I can use the classic lascannon parts (eg shield, rakes) with the autocannon or do I have to use the heavy bolter shield and wheels for it?
I'd like my autocannons to look "remote controlled" like the old lascannons do...so wondered if it's possible to do this without having to buy the seat trail.

Hi,
I'd try searching around on the GW website to see if you can buy the indiviual parts that you mention. Failing that give the Trolls on their orderline a call. They've always been helpful in the past.
Ebay is another option if you can find the right bits cheaply, beware of shipping costs though especially from the US, some unscrupulous sellers cane you on P&P if the items sell to cheaply for their liking. However I'm in no way trying to teach you to suck eggs... :P

don't forget they are about to cahnge the whole way that bits are available so if you are going to do it you have until the 29th.

Ive converted my old Autocannon chassis to take the new autocannons, they look really good!

My understanding (and I believe it is in one of the last couple of WD's) is that its end of Jan. That was certainly what my local GW manager suggested.

I went ahead and ordered it, just a lascannon chassis, shield, 2 heavy weapon wheels and the autocannon itself. I'm expecting them to be here on Thursday so I will have photos on Sunday, all being well!

Sorry to double post but figured I'd show you what I came up with....and I like it. I wish I'd ordered 3 autocannons now. Argh! Only major failure was the lascannon shield, but I feel it's even better without. I collect flames of war and it kind of reminds me of the little Italian autocannons you get for that.
