Title: Bunker 29
Description: plus some C.O.U.P. when it comes up
Ross - September 19, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
EDIT: Today, the 12th of October 2007, I went back to Warseer to breath life into the original Bunker 29 thread. On my way there I found myself distracted and disgusted by "Warseer Fanatics" and those that call themselves the "Warseer Inquisition." Many things over the last 14 or so days were news to me (Including the shutting down of several notable logs). As I'd been burnt by the moderators there a few months ago (I was banned without any notification and only able to find out why when the ban was lifted) and the latest rubbish that has occured (post deleting and claims by whinging members) I very sadly called that thread closed.
I honestly had tears well up as I came to the end of my last post. Alot of happy times was to be had there, and as I haven't changed, expect the same here.
Anyway, time to get off my hairy but and keep slogging out at the Bunker 29 project :) END EDIT
Hey hey, welcome to my necromunda/shadowrun/D&D/cyberpunk/bladerunner/5thElement/MadMax/Fallout style RPG modeling log.
To begin with I've selected a 'few' memorable moments from the original log, then I'll get into some new stuff.
Enjoy :)

And I found this one in my photobucket and just thought I'd share:

And yes, this damn page takes ages to load :D
schoolcormorant - September 19, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Ross, theres no 4 pic limit you know ;)
looking good, i always loved the meatwagon:D
SC
Ross - September 19, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
There's a limit of somekind, I tried to put them all in one but I had to break it down, so I did four just cause I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered figuring it out :D
Yeah, I often whip it out and stare lovingly at it (the meat wagon that is).
sir.spamalot - September 19, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
Wow, it looks like I missed out on that log :P Love the meatwagon "M1nge" and the baby pic is great!
cheers
Digits - September 19, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Fantastic stuff Ross! Looking forward to lots of the same on this site. A great project!
Ross - September 19, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
Thankyou fine sirs, I've plenty planned and I decided I'll set up another thread for the C.O.U.P as it's an actual army as opposed to a scattering of RPG models.
Might have some pics up by the end of the day (been all over the place the last few days ;) )
Ross - September 20, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
haha Sir Spamalot, it's actually 'm1nce' not 'm1nge' rofl!!
So I've got this lil vehicle and I want to make it for a judge dredd police type runabout, but I'm not sure on what it needs. Have a look:

The last one shows the turret (I forgot it when I took the other 2 shots).
Now I'm thinking I want to keep a Water Cannon type gun on it, but have it a bit darker and have it as a flamer. I'm not sure onthe turret, if I want to make a fresh one or leave it as is. I'm not sure on the barrel either, should I go for the stereotype flamer muzzle?
The body as a whole needs some more additions but yet still keeping it functional.
So, anyone got any ideas? I'm stumped
jasevx - September 20, 2007 07:41 AM (GMT)
What range is that from?
Chimera turret, side armour and tamiya accessories wud be bang on
Ross - September 20, 2007 07:50 AM (GMT)
It's from the Star Grunt vehichle range by Ground Zero Games (I'll provide a link if you ask nicley), it's probably too small for most IG converted stuff though (I'll bang on another pic later and you'll see what I mean).
So what sort of accessories?
Keep in mind it has to be a little less wastelander-ish (it's for more of an urban basher truck), and I don't want it too look like it could pull up somewhere and while left unattended the local gangers can strip it's outside baggage.
jasevx - September 20, 2007 08:14 AM (GMT)

these are yours i'm shipping! hotpants, bikinis and a catsuit, girl with shotgun my fav, cute [arse]!
ref the bits outside the vehicle, if you are doing urban a mesh screen would be good like the vehicles in irag have.
Ross - September 20, 2007 08:18 AM (GMT)
Oooooh, there'll be more chicks than bad guys soon!! Maybe I should swing it the other way, Evil Gun Girls vs The World!! :D Thanks jase :)
What exactly is a mesh screen? Do you have any quick links to one with it on?
jasevx - September 20, 2007 08:29 AM (GMT)
Ross - September 20, 2007 08:35 AM (GMT)
That'll be hard to do, I mean really hard!! I've got some mesh, I could try that, but it's fine enough that you wouldn't see any of thew vehicle details (not that there's much of that :D ).
Maybe just a skirt around the wheels, or would that look dicky?
jasevx - September 20, 2007 08:39 AM (GMT)
chicken mesh would be perfect size plus u can see thru it
Ross - September 20, 2007 08:47 AM (GMT)
I think I'll go with the mesh that I used on the Batmobile (the stuff I used on the windows), I'll do a skirt with braces around the base and wheels, wth steps to the side doors. I'll wrap it slightly around the back so it covers the narrow wheel faceing. I'll also do a front and side window screen.
Unfortunatley I'll have to wait for a mate who was going to give me some SM spotlight lenses to use as headlights so I won't be able to fit the front screen until I know how the lights will fit on.
I'm going to have to wait until Saturday for that. Damn.
sir.spamalot - September 20, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
Ha! Mince makes more sense...
cheers
Ross - September 21, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
But M1nge would have been funnier :D
ah, m1nge, ah
Digits - September 21, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
Hi mate. That resin vehicle probably needs a few rivets! Perhaps a few panels in plasticard with the rivets in.
Then, as it's a riot vehicle, stick mesh over the windows. (or one folded back over front roof like the police ones)
Ross - September 21, 2007 12:15 AM (GMT)
Filling in for Rictus are we Digits
I'm really not sure on the rivets TBH, the thought crossed my mind when I <ahem> assembled it, but the smoother non-riveted pannels give it a less industrial feel, like our modern day plastic cars.
I think mesh over windows is a great idea and I will implement that, once I get some better looking headlights.
Thanks mate :)
Ross - September 23, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
I'm putting the Enforcers truck on hiatus for the moment, but I'm still keen on doing a wasteland vehicle.
So I've got this:

I'd prepared this one when I did the 'batmobile' but I'd chosen a hard top option for that car. I'm going to put the juve in as the driver, with his laspistol hanging out the side and his other hang on a steering wheel. I've got to make a floor pan and interior wheel guards, putting a machine gun in a bolted down tripod (bopod or even just .... um .... pod?). There won't be an actual modeled gunner, but will be enough room for a model on a base to be put in there.
Will put on the pipe things (like the 'batmobile'), no roll cage (going to hurt when it flips over :D ), frone spiked ram plate.
And that's about it I guess.
Keep in touch ;)
Ross - September 24, 2007 07:55 AM (GMT)
Well, this sucks!! Fitted the driver in the seat and it looks like a kid in a monster truck :(
So I'm going to go driverless, them's the brakes. I'll just have to make it look the part now. I've got one car left that I'm going to turn into the pursuit cars from Mad Max (the first movie where they had cops). But that'll wait till after I've done the above one and a few other models (I hate doing vehicles, give me footsluggers any day).
jasevx - September 24, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
woohoo, teeny joy riders! Have you noticed Sals logged on? Ouch
Ross - September 24, 2007 10:52 PM (GMT)
Sals on what? What's she calling herself?
jasevx - September 25, 2007 08:33 AM (GMT)
Ross - September 25, 2007 08:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah I did see her rant in your log.
Do you have the PC near the kitchen!?!?
jasevx - October 6, 2007 08:35 AM (GMT)
Ross gets a job and all goes quiet...
But speaking to Lisa I know hes been painting, lets see the little blighters, stop hiding them!
Ross - October 6, 2007 10:08 PM (GMT)
Nah there's been no movement on the bunker front of late. The only painting I've been doing is on the Lione's. I've only the hair and skin touchups to go so should have 'em on show tonight.
Sundat bloody Sunday (lalala), I've finally got a day where I can DO stuff, I worked 6 days this week believe it or not.
(I still need to do the Squat basalisk, from scratch again, as my son decided it would look better with a bookshelf on top of it)
So expect some pics of metal and plastic and GS and Procreate girlie's tonight :)
EDIT:
Played the first (2nd version) of Bunker 29 tonight. Lisa managed to 'die' a grand total of 6 times  Seems those little scythe Spiders are tougher than they look when you're trying to stab 'em with a butter knife. Had alot of fun though, and the terrain was a great addition to some cool models (that sounds pretentious doesn't it <_< ).
Any way, long story short:
*No modeling done tonight.
*The towns water suply is secure so the town's set for more inhabitants to move in (after the still gets repaired that is).
*For the town to 'advance' it needs more Brahmin and more buildings.
*Then the town needs more 'civilians.'
Soooo, I've got to work on brahmin first off, got one half built, just needs the shoulders and hind quarters filled out with putty. Then I need to work on the cast cow heads to get another two made.
Some civvies next, then it's open season on random wasteland models. Update tomorrow night after work :)
Ross - October 9, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
<Shhhh, it's alright baby daddy's home now>
Ahhhhh, it's good to be back, not that I've lost interest in my C.O.U.P, but 4 postponed games (4 weeks) does discourage one a little bit.
Knackered from work tonight (being polite to people and lifting heavy things does that you know. And I got in trouble for lifting things that are a 'two man job,' bloody sooks, nothing's like it used to be. Gone are the days a man busts his hump working with big heavy things, sweating his guts out, working with food while he has a ciggie hanging out of his mouth. Soft, just bloody soft!! ).
Where was I, oh yes, knackered from work and couldn't be fudged playing with GS tonight so I rummaged through my overly abundant bits boxes to find Bunker models to get ready for priming and then eventual painting.
So tonight's just a simple 'prep' night and here's the results:
On the left we have Southpaw Sally(*), then a random GZG Gentleman's model who'll get sculpted shorts or a thong and a set of boxing gloves so she'll go with Southpaw Sally. Then the next 5 are the Copplestone mini's I split with Jase (and one of even has a G-String, man I'm in heaven  )

Next is some more biker moles. I did a simple torso swap with the pillion passenger and the biker from the model I'd already done and it turns out they're a fraction different in sizes so will take some spack filling to get right. The dyke bike driver needs her legs worked so she doesn't look like she's dragging her feet on the ground.

And lastly another Fallout inspired Brahmin and the foundations of another Snakadillo. This one I wanted to be hissing or roaring ontop of an old car roof.

So there you have it. As I'm running dangerously low on paints at the moment it's time to build build build, then, well, paint I guess. Somewhere in there I'll have to do the Lione sergeant too, but, miniature scantley clad ladies call louder......
(*) The model's name from the company is actually called Southpaw Sally, and is not a direct reference to a certain mumoose69. Though, I did laugh my arse of when I saw the model and it's name and pretty much bought it just for that coincidence :)
jasevx - October 9, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
she doesn't need gloves to beat the crap out of me!
Ross - October 9, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
HA, that's the rumor I'd heard too
How are your chicks with guns coming along Jase?
BDJV - October 9, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
More Chicks wiff guns! Awesome!
Ross - October 10, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
Haha a man after my own heart
mummoose69 - October 10, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
its nice that a company has heard of my legendary 'thumping' skills and named a model after me. Nice to see your finally spending more time working than playing with your toys Ross, im sure lisa appreciates you joining the land of the 'adults' :P
Novogord - October 10, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Well you got a very original tast for vicheles I must say. But that bike on the left is rather funny actually. Reminds me of something I have seen, but I don't know anymore from what.
Ross - October 10, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
Yes we've all heard of you're legendary 'pumping' skills, I think Jase has given me the web link for the site mumoose69 :D
Though, maybe that should be a X-mas tournament. We get all the posters wives in a big ring full of jelly and place bets on who'll come out last!?!? I'd enjoy that even if no one else does
Novogord, not a tank to be seen in this log, unless I decide to do a Tank Girl knockoff :D The bike though..... sorry mate I can't help you there?
Ross - October 11, 2007 12:02 PM (GMT)
Double post, take all baby, yeah ah huh, yeah!!
Didn't get much done tonight, had a nanna's nap after tea then was slow getting into it tonight (was watching the American "So you think you can dance" and they ousted the last Russian dancer the heathens).
But I did get a bit done. Set the GS spacers on the biker chick torso swap, made the 'bump' for the bike with the pillion passenger to sit on it's new base, and this:

Got the brahmin almost finished, just 1/4 flank to bulk up. Threw some Procreate on the bokers bases with lines around their feet to look like they're walking on a mattress. Also made the a'rms thrown back' chick a g-string just so she would be taken seriously  and with the last of my efforts tonight whacked the claws on the snakadillo.
<pheeeew> I'm off ta bed :D
hiveminion - October 11, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
Chicks. Cows. Something called a 'Snakadillo'.
You gotta love this log.
monkey child - October 11, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
The sculpting on that brahmin is perfect! and all praise the snakadillo for he is mighty.
