Yep, thats right, its band wagon jumping time!

I would like to wish you all a happy new year first off!

I was away home over Xmas/new year/my birthday and came back to find this motivational scheme up and running! My previous log contains IG (very long term project!) and will have all my ultramarines added over time (must photo graph them at some point!). Luckily I recieved dosh for my birthday, and after a quick trip to GW Dundee I now had this....



So I will be mostly making/painting Space Elves of Gayness! The marines were a present off of my sister, she means well! The Tau is for my son, he recieved a load off of "Santa" so I have to *cough* help him make them *Cough*. For him, Honest *cough**cough*!

I Started this last night... His name is El Wonky



My plan is to collect/paint a basic game legal force between now and end of Feb (2 troop, 1 HQ) and just add what I like from there (while adhereing to the 250pt minimum per month for 6 months).

I will be using lots of Guardians/Dire Avengers and War walkers (Gotta love those Gay Space Elf Walkers!). Heavy weapons will mainly be Scatter lasers and Star cannons, anti tank will be fire dragons/dark reapers. I still have to work out a colour scheme for everything though so ideas/hints are welcome!

My only problem at this time is wifey being due another baby in 3 weeks, I might go quiet for a bit but I have 6 weeks paternity leave (Painting time AHOY!).

But despite being an elf-hater (usually. I like DE), I think this looks like it will be good. Can't wait to see it painted!

What Craftworld are you planning to paint Gonzo?

@theGrizz - I haven't decided what colours to paint them yet, I like the red/bone on the codex cover, and this makes a change from blue/green of my other armies. I want something different, red or purple... not sure... looking for ideas.... :(

I had an accident in my local GW today, my wallet fell open and bought me another war walker making 3 in total now! :lol:

This will work out over 200pts and my 10 guardians will make it past 250 for January, I just need to make them and paint!

Feb will be the wave serpent and Dire avangers plus another 15 avengers and second serpent on my shopping list (I like the colour scheme Captain Wolveine uses for his dires, might nick that one if he has no objections!). :rolleyes:

Glad to see some progress Gonzo, and another Eldar player if my memory serves me rightly...

Need to get myself in gear really.. where did I leave that spawning pool...

i love the pose of the warwalker very dynamic :)
as for what craftworld i'd go yme-loc (if i had my time again i would do my eldar that way)

He is called El Sprinto! He worked out ok, but I missed two of the wee antenna things from the hull, will have to put them on later :)



El Wonky and El Sprinto, with the third on sprues and my 10 guardians for this month. I am still undecided on colour scheme, red and bone is growing on me!

Wow the pose is fantastic! You really conveyed the pose well, even the pilot looks like he's leaning forward in his seat!

A bit later than planned is todays update form last night (confused? You will be!)



My third Walker, El Dancey he completes my 3 Amigos! No This isn't going to be a mexicazn themed eldar army, some how I think tequelia is more a space wolf drink that that of the sophisticated Eldar!



All 3 Amigos lined and ready to party! The weapons aren't fixed in place, just put on for photos (easier to paint off of the model too!) so don't worry about weapon position in the models poses. El Dancey looks a bit wierd from some angles, better in others, his pose is more a slow purposeful step rather than an outright sprint that is El Sprinto.



My first attempt at Guardians. God they are fiddely buggers! I think my batch came straight from mould line city, I spent ages with a small round file clearing the crap from them (no repeat of my famous "mould Line"tm Company of marines from 5 years ago, I hope the boy who bought them on e-bay appreciated the time I spent drybrushing all the lines! :) )

I had planned to have all 10 and heavy weapon ready for priming today but I was playing catch up with season 2 of LOST on DVD, I kept super gluing my bloodied fingers together instead of the guardians.

Neadless to say I still have no clue as to what is going on in LOST, and I have started season 3 now...will have to get wifey to explain!.

I will have the rest finished tonight and ready for priming tomorrow, ready for painting on thursday/friday if I can settle on a definitive scheme for them....I still like red/bone, but purple is quite catching, black is plain lazy (I like Black because it is lazy!).....Any thoughts from the floor?

I have looked through all the other threads and posted on some, I am amazed at the number of fantasy armies being aired! I never knew there was this much interest in fantasy on this forum (not that that is a bad thing) Hell I might go out and make an ogre army when all this is done, just so I can fit in more on here! Keep up the good work gents!

My Eldar are red, bone and black, but different shades to my Blood Ravens. That's why they are on hold to stop me going mad painting similar colours :)



What sort of purple? Deep and moody or bright?

I have saw Green fire dragons and red scorpions, I like that scheme so I might incorporate it into my army, just need to think of a colour scheme that will compliment and not look too adhoc!

I have my Aspects all within my craftworld scheme so it doesn't look so multi colour. The WD that came out when the new Eldar did had some very nice variant aspect schemes in it.

Ok party people, i decided on a colour scheme, red/bone(white). Last night I painted up a test model, basecoated 3 others and started a walker. I will pop in some photos after the weekend. Thing is, after I painted red/bone I looked in the codex and they look very Saim Hann! So Big Gay Red Saim Hann Eldar it is then! photos to follow tomorrow, I'm having a LOST night, with beer!

The red is Chaos Black undercoat, Mechrite red base coat, red/brown ink wash, Mechrite red/blood red top coat and blood red hidghlight. I tend to use a heavy dry brush technique which looks ok from a couple of feet away, but is bloody awful when zoomed in with the camera! Good enough to game with when finished though, and the two minis shown are WIP!

No update from today, I flattened my PC and have spent all night rebuilding it (hardware and software). It threw a fit today, kept saying it was overheating and powering itself off. It was a good advert for cleaning the dust from my CPU! It is all better now, just need to install AV software so I can go looking for Adult educational videos on the old web.... ;)

Don't think wifey is pleased...haven't said more than two words to her all night...if it ain't toy soldiers its bloody PC's!

Sorry for the pointless mini-update! I have no furthur activity to give ( I have 2 walkers to finish as of 27th Jan 08). I do have a good reason for this!

I grin like a cheshire cat on acid! I am now daddy to my second son, !and 6th baby all told. I am the man!

Because of this I have only managed to complete 10 guardians and 1 walker (though I got bored of eldar and put together 8 leman russ, 1 wave serpant, 1 city sector and painted 5 craters!). I have 2 unfinished walkers for this month! Boo!

I would argue it is worth the following:

specials rulesrange =G36": when rolling to hit the following chart is used:

D6=1; mis-fire; urine scatters 2D6" in random direction
D6=2-5; shot is on target with S6, AP3 hit Hellstrom template
D6=6; urine scatters back onto firers postion. Unit is Stunned untill the beginning of the players next turn as it cleans away it's self created mess!

Some of what kept me away from my eldar (not pictured are the last 4 complete leman russ and some 40k craters!)



These all need their bases sorted, I have done a basic single coat on the gems, I don't paint too good so the gems and the cloth tied around their arms is left for now. When I get better I will revisit them, but at this time I am happy with the look so far. They look good from a couple of feet away on the table, just don't pick them up to inspect closer!

For Feb I have 20 Dire avenger and 2 waveserpents (An Autarch and farseer/seer council if I get the time [and 3 vindicators, 20 marnes and 5 terminators should I get the chance...NOT!])


I need to decide what way to paint the dire avengers, should I go blue or maybe continue my army colour of red/bone. Capt wolverine has some good eldar for inspiriation... Wolvie is my hero right now!

I am struggling to fit htis all in with my real life at the mo, so for all you lazy bitches out there take note of my example! Get your finger out and paint.

he took them! look at him, all 36 hours old, would you say no? (with my wife, I dare you to say no [and with my 6th kid you can see that I don't say no very often! :lol: ]).

I was thinking about a suitable birth pressie for him, some kids get a teddy bear, some get some nice clothes, I think Orks or maybe some tyranids are the order of the day. Something for him to grow into and develop with. you never know, he might actually be good at painting (hint if so I won't have to pick up a brush! HEHE).

Credit to you fella at still trying to get on with this - if it makes it any easier take a month off and Ill give you an extra month at the end (to anyone not happy at this, he can have paternity leave from the regiment to have baby :D)
