If there is going to be a draft, I'm seriously going to leave the country. -_-
Actually, I plan on leaving the country anyway. >.> Either Canada, Scotland, or maybe England.
Anywho, I was too lazy to click on the link (^_^;) so I may sund stupid, but I don't care.
I'm against the whole draft thing. Its just stupid to me. In the marines, they have a motto "Our youth, is our future." Oh yeah? Sounds to me like they actually mean to say is "Our youth, is our expendable bunch of kids you can die, 'cuase they ain;t worth crap."
They shouldn't be able to force kids to go to war. Seriously, it just pisses me off to see that. -_-
O_O....Where did all those smilies come from?
Sango - June 15, 2004 12:25 AM (GMT)
They're custom smilies I uploaded.
Yeah that seems to be our culture's attitude toward young people. As teens, we're reviled, mistrusted and restricted. Then as young adults, we're seen as expendable cannon fodder. Apparently you're worthless til you're 30 in their eyes.

Yeah, if I ever reach 30. -_- There are other ways to get around a draft, but nooooo, its easier to just KILL AMERICA! -_-;;

Forget going to Canada or Mexico. They extradite draft dodgers.
MeatFilledPastry - June 15, 2004 10:10 PM (GMT)
What does that mean? @_@
I was already planning on going to either Canada, Scotland, or England. I've wanted to move there for a long time now, and when I do move there, I'm gonna stay there. ^_^; And then I heard about the draft, so thats just more "motivation" to move.
Sango - June 16, 2004 02:39 PM (GMT)
Extradite: They send draft dodgers back to the US to face criminal charges.

Well what do you expect when you have reincarnations of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin for choices as Candidates for president? Youth in this country are seen as crap by the adult population and they don't seem to care about young people. It's a generational thing, they protect their own generation but see young people as crap. Another thing, the military itself opposes the draft. ALOT of commanders don't like the idea of having to lead a bunch of people that don't want to be there. They are used to an all-volunteer force that they take great pride in and since their troops volunteered they are willing to do what is asked of them. Draftees in their eyes would be a bad idea in combat situations as they are going to be unmotivated and their lack of motivation could cause some serious mishaps that could have otherwise been easily avoided. Oh and the Marines aren't the monsters you think they are. They are good people so long as they are there willingly and all Marines are DAMN PROUD to be Marines. I myself would volunteer but I have other things to take care of here at home so I couldn't do that but would volunteer right away if I heard a draft was enacted so I could be in a unit of volunteers that are motivated and take pride in what they do and not one composed of less capable draftees where being the only guy that knows what he's doing I'd have to carry the entire unit on my shoulders.

im all for the draft. this is my country and i will defend it, if i wont who else will? all the other bitches are running away to canada while my kids get blown up by nukes...............so inconclusion i think this is important

I have no problem with people joining the army, if that's what they want. It shouldn't be forced. People have their lives to live without worrying about being sent over to the Middle East.

Thats cool, I understand that it is your country, and that you would want to defend it. I however, don't want to. I dont like america and I don't want to be any part of it. But When I was about 13 years old, My parents made me go to bootcamp, and they told me that since I went to bootcamp, I'd have a better chance of getting drafted, becuase I've already had some sort of military training. So just becuase my parents thought it would be cute for me to go to bootcamp, I get to go die for a country I hate. -_- Do they think it would be cute for me to die? i guess so. ><

Yeah, I don't oppose people joining the military, but its just pure bullshit to draft a bunch of kids, then send them off to war. There are plenty of other ways to do this, but nooooo, they have to KILL AMERICA! >< Why doesn;t Bush go fight in Iraq. His dumb ass wanted us to go fight over there so much, why doesn;t he go fight too? He sucks as a president, so why doesn't he make up for it somehow. -_-
I just don't understand how someone could take a bunch of random kids from all over america, and completely waste them. If kids are so useless that they can go to war against their will, then why do they go to school everyday and get jobs? Why should they do any of that if they are going to die without having any say in it?

Quoted from one of my friends Jump.....
"All you people that said no...can go to fucking Mexico. This shit kills me, people want to use every right of their to heir full advantage, but when the time comes to protect those freedoms, they want to run and refuse to stand up for their country. The fact that you even are allowed to speak your mind against fighting, should make you want to help protect something, because in a lot of other places in the worl, you would get killed for that shit.
Back to the main question:
If they brought back the draft, I wouldn' let them draft me. I would voluntarily join before they could get me. Now with this, I would try to cut a deal, I volunteer, but I would like to be stationed in somewhere like Englang or Australia. I'd be serving my country. but without actual combat.
Enough of me rambling on."
I agree with everything he said basicly.
I asked Rico (another friend) if women get to fight in the war, because I wanted to and he replied:
"Yes, women do get to "fight" in the war. But ONLY in combat support roles I.E. Light wheeled vehicle mechanic, water purification, cook, nurse, systems engineer. But they CANNOT be in combat arms. Which is like, artillery, infantry, combat engineers (HOOAH!!!!!) cavalry scout, tank driver, mortarmen etc... Nothing that gets the women directly "In the shit" as we like to say..... But in Israel, and Russia (and some other countries) women can most definitely serve in combat arms MOS' "
I asked what kind of weapons I get equipped with, Rico answered:
"Yes, alison. You will get equipped with a weapon. Every solider, or marine is trained to be a grunt (infantry) in basic training, no matter what your military occupational specialty (MOS) ends up being. Even a cook gets trained with an M-16a2 assault rifle. Remember pvt. Jessica Lynch? I believe she was some sort of deuce and a half driver or something, so she was basically just a truck driver, but she supposedly emptied her M-16a2 when her convoy got ambushed. Some MOS' are assigned a special weapon. Like, if you're a tanker (driver, armer, navigation) you only get a .45 pistol, because there's not enough room for an M-16 inside of a tank"
That concludes my shit that I gotta say on this.
Sango - June 29, 2004 01:22 AM (GMT)
Well I hope you don't end up having to join the army. I'd rather have peace.
Miroku - July 11, 2004 05:15 AM (GMT)
Dude, where did you get that smiley with a Browning .50 cal M2 Heavy Machinegun? Anyways I don't like the draft as a military person. Draftees fight sucky while regulars that volunteered KICK ASS! Also if I was a regular officer I wouldn't wanna have to lead draftees that don't wanna be there because they complain and whine and are tacticlly inferior to volunteers.
