I believe the admins over there knows about this forums, i'll let Chris know if its possible to merge the Alumni Forums to the Official School Forums...

Merger means, we'll give up this site and endorse to the school the administration of forum, starting all over.

let's explore also the positive and negative impact of doing so.

- tupvians.com is an alumni website. no legalistic attachment.
- all website contibutions are voluntary (academic and job support).
- professional contact base with the industry... we have been a source of experienced professionals lately kay ga kontak na sa aton ang mga HR sang mga MNCs for job postings.


tupvisayas.edu.ph is official site
- should be official and legal ang dealings
- a good sign of unity kung mag merge
- pero may possibility sang limtied expression.
- student/school based

This is an alumni site and forum whyl the other one is an official school forum carring the edu domain......

wala man problema kung official website ato or not... thinking out loud, in a way this site should be merged.... pwede man na guro ang ang forum portion didto i link diri and not create another "forum" didto....

guys, let's keep our identity, this forum has been a forum even before the official tup-v website... i love this forum... it's our own forum... and i think the official website forum will be the one to "hitch" sa aton nga forum... not the other way around...

As one of the Admin here and a friend of the one who develop this Forum ( KG ) i think we could retain this. There had been lot of things that had made this site and forum stays.

The Tupvians.com site was initiated and started by few Alumni that had the visions of reaching out to every TUPV alumni around the world and had spent time and effort to develop it.

Guys, I was able to get in touch with Facs, he is open man to the overall sentiments sang aton diri nga community...so ang suhestyon nya is to have one representative ( Admin ) of our forums contact him ( Migo KG, Jerim or kung sin-o puede ah ), and discuss with him kung ano ang mas maayo nga option... either merge or whatever....basta kuno maka unite sang tanan nga TUPVians, alumni man or students and Faculties, ok sa ila.

i agree with jerim about the identity of each site... tupvians.com more focus on the alumni side and tupvisayas.edu.ph as the official site will cater to the school related information and activities, but each site must have a link to the other site...

as for the forum, it would be best for the whole tupvians community to have one forum... i would rather like that they should merge with us because we have already a lot of members and our topics/discussion boards are already properly laid out to cater to all tupvians - those who are in the campus and the alumni....

let's not rush things though, we need more opinions.... pls post your thoughts here

of course, it's very hard to let this site go... we have a very meaningful history since 1999...

anyhow, we'll try to hook up with them kung ano kag ano gid man... hopefully everyone here will try to communicate with them and express the sentiment of merging up...

and it will be up for them to decide... and for you guys to persuade them... :)

akon kung ano lang da ah ma agreehan sang tanan. mka agree man ko kay sphinx, jerim kag kay rommel, pero ang problema lang is kung i-merge naton, which forum should be absorbed? this forum or the official?

kay kung ang server nila, sa school, and not a server "for free" like sang aton(not sure about sa akon ginahambal), chances are may downtime na specially kung patyon ang server na naga dala sang site sa school(not sure naman kung ano ginayawit ko)...so downtime is imminent

stability wise stable na ni ang aton forum, unless maputo ang invisionfree...hehehe...

we'll wiat for Facs' input nalang anay. that way ma weigh naton ang pros and cons

if indi mag workout ang merger, then we can recognize the official forum by adding a link...just as nayr suggested

Maayo man na may website na ang school ta. Its a good way to train the comp tech. Kag it would also be advantageous to students and to the would be students and to the school.

we should keep our forum, what we need is the recognition from the alumni asso. that this is the official alumni forum and the same with our website.

remember there's a difference between official school forum and official alumni forum.
