JAKE JOAQUIN, a TUP-Vian rendering his SIT 3 in Orient Semiconductors was hit by a jeepney last Saturday. He needs to undergo a skull operation and he needs financial help. He is currently confined in Calamba Medical Center and is waiting to be transferred at East Avenue Medical center today.

Dear TUP-V Community,

Greetings in the name of God!!!

As we are undergoing our SIT 3 program, one of our co-trainee working in Orient Semiconductors in Calamba in the person of Jake G. Joaquin, an ECET 3A student, was involved in an accident that occurred last February 9, 2008 at about 10:00 pm as they were traveling home.

He was hit in the face by the side mirror of a speeding “sarao”. The driver was drunk during the accident and is now in the custody of the police. In spite of that, he suffered severe fracture in his skull which needed immediate surgery. He was confined in the ICU of Calamba Medical Center and the hospital bills amounted to Php 40,000 excluding the payments for the operation that he will be undergoing in the following days of his confinement which could reach an estimated amount of more than Php 100,000.

Jake, as a SIMAG scholar, is not that financially stable to compensate with the said hospital bills. In connection to this, we would like to ask for your financial assistance in any amount that will help ease his family’s financial burden.

We hope that God will touch your hearts and help our friend in need.

Latest update I got was he is at Rm 604 6F East Ave. Medical center. He will undergo CAT Scan this morning.
