ROWDE 4 - 8 MAGPIES aet

Five extra-time goals sent the Magpies flying into the first round of the Pied Piper Cup in a 12-goal thriller at Rowde.

Ben Phillips cancelled out Rowde's early penalty with a coolly taken spot-kick to take the sides into the break at 1-1.

After the restart it was all Magpies, with Richard Allum scoring a sweet left-foot strike and Simon Hillman's in-swinging corner extending the lead to 3-1.

However, complacency let Rowde get back on level terms and the fixture went into extra-time.

A wonderful move down the left, involving Wesley Bray, Jamie McDine and Dan Phillips led to the goal of the game from Josh Mills.

McDine then added 2 of his own, slotting a first time shot past the keeper and embarassing him further with a cheeky lob from 25 yards. Captain Dan Phillips netted twice in spectacular style to seal the rout.
