Pikkulinnut lauloivat että tekeillä on uusi versio, joka koostuu kahdesta kirjasta. Osaisiko pääpiru itse valaista asiaa enemmän?

Pikkulinnuilla on joskus hämmästyttäviä tietoja. Toinen editio on tekeillä ja se on tarkoitus julkaista kahtena kirjana.

Näistä ensimmäinen sisältäisi ihkaoikeat pelisäännöt ja kaiken mitä tarvitaan hahmojen luomiseen. Toinen (ns. pelinjohtajan kirja) sisältää hirviöiden tiedot, haltiaväen kuvaukset tietoineen, taikaesineiden pelitiedot ja laajan maailmakuvauksen.

Tavoitteena ilmestymiselle on kesä 2007. Kumpikin kirjoista tulee olemaan yli 100 sivuisia.

are there any plans to publish roudan maa in english,, even just bits of it on the internet?

I am probably not the only roleplayer who is a fan of the kalevala mythology who cant speak finnish (Im trying to learn but its really hard when you are 37!!), so a lot of people would be interested.

You guessed right and this is good place to ask something like this. Chances to get major parts of Roudan maa in internet are relatively good. First edition is almoust sold out and when it will be, I can easily bless tranlation and free publishing of some parts.

There is only one major problem. I will never make it myself. My skills with english are quit poor and I would never survive with such work.

Last Ropecon I heard, that some people might tranlate Roudan maa (Maybe "Land of Frost" or "Kalevala roleplay") to english and english version could be moved to .pdf format in internet. That could happen, but please don't think it will happen quick and easy way. It will depend strongly voluntarely work.

I'm very grateful about your message. I can say, now chances to get english Roudan maa are much better than before your post.

also, I noticed that in your list of Gods (in that article on the finnish roleplaying site) you havent got Ilmatar/Lounnatar
is there any reason for that, or maybe I just missed it??

Finish pantheon was living and there were gods that lose their might and gods that become greater. Ilmatar was major god in history of Roudan maa, but she had lost her grip with mortals. Ofcourse she was creator, but who needs creator in complete world?
Thats reason why Ukko has took place of Ilmatar as a supreme god of sky, weather and thunder. People still know Ilmatar, but in Roudan maa she's only character of mythology, not deity for worshippers.

Suomalaiten uskonto muuttui aikojen myötä. Topiset jumalat menettivät kannatustaan, toisista tuli vahvempia. Ilmatar oli tärkeä Roudan maan menneisyydessä luojajumalattarena, mutta kun maailma on jo luotu, niin luojalle jää vähän tarvetta. Siksi Ilmatar esiintyy lähinnä varhaisissa myyteissä, eikä hänellä ole juuri omaa palvontaa. Ilmattaren paikan onkin ominut enimmäkseen Ukko, joka hallitsee säätä.
