Title: I wont be around much for a wee while

Im taking Mel over to the hospital in Edinburgh today , shes to get her operaton to take her spleen out tomorrow :(

Of course just to add to the stress it was snowing up here last night and the roads over Edinburgh were bad his morning im hoping they are better by the time we have to leave .

Edinburgh isnot that far away about 30 miles i think so a 60 mile rond trip is not something i am looking forward doing twice a day but its looking like i might have to at least today and tomorrow after that we will see what happens .

Life's just getting better and better... NO... :( Hubby went to doctor's today as he was having breathing difficulties. Doctor confirmed that it sounded like panic attacks due to the stress he is under and that he also had a bit of an infection in one of the lungs. So he is on antibiotics now...

Other than that, all is great...

Fiona, how is Mel doing?

Oh no vera thats not good . please tell your hubby we are thinking about him .

Mels surgery went ok but she took a really bad reaction to something im not sure what yet but i was called to get there asap as she was in agony very distressed and was having breathing difficulties yesterday :(

The traffic going through was a nightmare when i eventually got there i was told Mel had had enough morphine to floor an elephant and she was still in a lot of pain , so they had changed over to feeding her Ketamine through a drip , i was not expecting what i saw when i walked in to her room though she was lying in the bed with an oxygen mask on her breathing was very shallow , her face was all swollen and she looked dreadful . she burst into tears when she saw me and was really in pain :(

She had a bad night and the real rotten bit today is the forth bridge is shut because of the high winds and traffic is being diverted to the kincardine bridge but it is tailed back miles and miles , there was no way i could risk getting caught up in so much traffic in case i could not get hoime in time for Robert coming out of school , i am hoping the traffic will ease after rush hour so we can get over tonight , my wee girl just wants her mum :(

Vera sorry your husband is poorly too! all the best on a speedy recovery!

The weather here is terrible, I walk Nev twice a day and have to cut his walks short as we are soaked! Dont want him getting cold before friday.

All the best Rob

Fiona, how is Mel doing?

Pyreelover - January 11, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
Mel is still in a lot of pain , they have got her on 8 tramadol a day plus paracetamol on the hour and very strong pain killers twice a day :(

She is still in a lot of pain and feeling sick is not helping but thats probably a lot to do with all the medication shes taking , she wont be getting home this week after all they are trying to get the pain sorted out and her mobile again , she has managed to get up and go to the toliet herself which is in the same room today but was in agony after so she wont get home until she can at least walk up and down stairs without too much pain :(

Poor girl i just feel so helpless and i want her better i know shes in the right place for now but i want my baby home :(

Mel's home , with her very own chemists shop or so it seems :(

She is still in a lot of pain and very uncomfortable but we will just see how she manages over the next few days , shes in bed sleeping for now so hopefully being back in her own bed will help her feel better

Thanks again for all your good wishes and fingers crossed she heals more quickly at home
