Hi there everyone

My name is Adrian and my wife is Elena. We are about to get our first Pyrenean in a few weeks time. His name is to be Kodah and he is 6 weeks old.

Koda is Dakota Souix for friend. But as a name it seems to be spealt with an h so that what we're going to do.

I am sure we will have lots of questions as our previous dog was a German Shepherd (a totally different kettle of fish) by the name of Kitara. Unfortunately we lost her to cancer earlier this year :( . We really missed having a companion, so can't wait for our new member of the family. We're going to see him this weekend so hope to have some photos to upload next week.

We look forward to any help people can offer - plus their stories. :D

Hi and Welcome , as Vera says we are looking forward to seeing pics of your poopie :D

Pyr's are a breed like no other breed so be prepared to see a huge difference in training a Pyr compared to a German Shepherd .

I had a Dobe before i got my 1st Pyr and my Dobe was well trained and would do anything i asked Taz had 100% recall 100% of the time and was very obedient .

I researched Pyrs for over 25 years and thought i knew what to expect until Madam Akira came here

When you are used to a dog doing everything he was asked to do , to be faced with a gorgeous bundle of fluff that decided for herself when and if it was worth her while to do as she was asked was pretty amazing , you really can see them thinking " why should i ? And your point is "

I love the Pyr's independant nature and their ability to think for themselves , although training is very hard work , it is fun and a huge achievement when our furballs actually do what we want them too instead of pleasing themselves

Good luck and i am looking forward to hearing all about your poopies progress :D
