Our vet says that we should brush Walter's teeth. But he hates it, so it's nearly impossible. If you do brush your dog's teeth, do you have any tips on getting them to tolerate it? If you don't, are there any alternatives, like dentibones (but not dentibones because I've heard they can be dangerous) that you use?
Getting a Pyr to do or have something done that they dont like can be a real battle , Storm seems to quite like getting his teeth brushed but madam Akira can be a pain about it , i find the wee rubber toothbrushes that you use on your finger a lot easier to use than a real toothbrush . Especially with Akira as she does not seem to ralize what i am up to until my finger is in her mouth
I dont do their teeth that often because i give them raw bones which does a great job cleanng their teeth , raw but not cooked bones , as cooked bones can splinter and cause a lot of damage , hope that helps a wee bit :D

Thanks, I'll try the finger toothbrushes. Walter would definately like being given a bone for a change too... I'm amazed how many bones he finds in the park that I have to take away!
I don't brush our dogs' teeth as they too get raw marrow bones to keep them in good condition.
