Hello. I really need help. Am new to the site so I am not sure if the topic has been covered before but if I dont solve our digs digging problem my hubby is talking about selling her. We have had Sheba for a little over a year and she is now 3.5 years old. Other than being able to heel very well when we walk her, she is untrained. Any attempts on our part are ignored- talk about stubborn! She has a lovely nature and is very gentle. Not long after we got her she started digging. I let her dig in the gardens because I thought it would be preferable than in the lawn. The few times she dug in the lawn, putting her dog poop there deterred her. We have now moved house and she is digging everywhere. It started in one large spot continually. We put down mesh but yesterday she ripped off one of her nails trying to dig that spot :( and now she is moving and digging further out. We take her for lots of walks and made a digging 'sandpit 'in the garden but to no avail and she doesnt poop enough to cover such a large area. We now live in a rental house so I have to solve this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
I think you'll find it very hard to stop your dog from digging in the garden. It's something many dogs do, and pyreneans in particular (they often dig a hole to lay in it when they are hot). The only thing you can do really is give her one section of the garden where she can dig to her heart's content and fence the rest off so she can't get into the nice part.
Hope you can find a solution.

I am afraid Vera is right , Akira digs and nothing stops her , so i just let her carry on as long as it is in her own wee bit of the garden , and of course i remember not to fall into the huge hole , which i have doen before now :ph43r:
Storm on the other hand does not dig at all but only cos i think he is too lazy
