Hi, this is my first posting.
I share a home with Sheila and Licorice. Sheila is a Great Pyrenees, about 4 – 4 ½ years old. Licorice seems to be a Pyrenees/Labrador mix about 2 ½ years old. I have had Sheila 2 ½ years and Licorice just under 1 year. Both are females. They were both beyond the puppy stage when I got them. Sheila came from ths local Great Pyrenees rescue and Licorice from the Humane Society, With minimum correction they are great house dogs but I have to vacuum a lot.

I have a recent story.
I was in the park walking Sheila and Licorice. Both dogs wanted to leave the path and go over to a baseball backstop. All I could see was a flock of crows and my dogs always ignore crows. We headed over and the crows flew off. Both dogs continued pulling hard. I wondered what was so interesting. They stopped at the fence and sniffed. I looked and saw a cockatiel on the other side of the fence on the ground. I tied Sheila and Licorice to the fence and went around. The cockatiel had lost 2 tail feathers and many smaller feathers. I bent over and offered a finger and the cockatiel stepped on and rode my shoulder home. I do not think the cockatiel would have survived the crow attack so my dogs did a lifesaving rescue. At home both were very interested in the bird but very calm. The bird seemed healthy and very friendly. The next morning both dogs wanted to go check out where we found the bird the day before and both sniffed when I took them to the other side of the fence. The next day they had no interest although Licorice glanced over once. I was lucky and found the bird’s owner a week later.
