awwww dont you just love their ickle pinky paws last picture).

You mentioned about you over worrying in another post. I was on another Pyrenean site and this woman posted that she was really worried about her pyrie and had booked a vets appointment for her new Pyrenenean because she walked her too much and her pads had turned pink. I had to post a piccie of JDs pink paws to show her it was normal for Pyries to have pink paws. She was everso embarrassed but said you was used to golden retrievers who only have black paws. She cancelled the vets appointment.

He's a beaut. What kennel is he from. JD and Charlie are Alchazandis.

Hi Cheeks
Had to check with my wife she keeps all the paperwork and travelled up from Plymouth to collect him as far as i know Daz is Alchazandis pedigree also says (Alchazandis Ssh Im Bonfire is the sire) and (Mountain sunrise is the Dam).He is great starting to become mischevious though but we love him to bits.I also love the pink paws his nose was pink for a couple of weeks but is all black now.My neighbour reckons if Daz is lying down and he looks up with his eyes he looks like a Womble.

You'll have to watch the sock pinching gene the Alchazandis tribe have :)

I thought its been a while and thought i would add some more pics of Daz he has certainly grown since my last post he is still behaving himself at 23 months old now he his great with all other dogs cats and other animals(although scared of the newly aquired Hamsters (roboroski`s i think). We have recently started to not use the halti anymore as he doesnt pull now and my 8 year old son can actually walk him without being pulled up the road(although we do watch just incase he decides to run.Recall is 75% there and were still being asked if he`s a polar bear.

Lovely Pics. He's so handsome :D . Was just wondering - how much does Daz weigh. Monty is the same age as hi m and I'm worried that he is small for his age.

Super pictures!

Hi Rachel I have just weighed Daz on one of those wii fit boards with me holding him then deducting my weight what a laugh that was and Daz liked it as he got cuddles .Daz weighs in at 43kilo`s and is 23 months old so not fully at max weight yet.I have had so many people who have said "he is huge" and some who tell me "he`s quite small for a newfoundland(some people a  ).I actually think he is the right height (as he can take food off the worktops in the kitchen without jumping up  ).He Looks skinny when hes had a swim or a bath like a greyhound though.

:D You're brave. I cant even pick Monty up!! :D I think monty is around the same, so im a little less worried now. Out of interest, if you dont mind me asking, what do you feed Daz? Im interested in whether im feeding Monty the right stuff to help him put on his weight

Hi Rachel
I use Nutro choice lamb and rice for large breeds.I have to use the lamb and rice as Daz had an intolerance to animal proteins and any meat except lamb which made him start maulting, gave him a bad rash on his skin which looked like dandruff in his coat and was excessivly scratching when he was younger.I changed to Nutro after speaking to Vera about dog foods and then contacting nutro within 2 weeks his skin looked almost perfect he had stopped scratching and molting and was a totally different dog.It is expensive food at £37 a 15kg sack.I was that impressed with it i wrote to nutro and told them how fantastic their product was.Daz has lost the intollerance he had now and just about eats anything which is great but i do keep him on Nutro as it is a great quality dog food that solved all my problems and Daz loves it.
