Hi,
I am new to pyr world. I am picking my new baby pyr pup tomorrow.
Her names going to be J.D. (my husbands idea) named after the dog on the US series Dead Like Me.
I'll post some piccies later - when I have worked out how to do it.
Look forward to "meeting" you all.

She's doing great. Walking well on a lead and progressing with sit. Not too bad on recall although a typical Pyr specially now she is gaining confidence and not being afraid away from the "pack". House training ok only having the odd accident now and again but she hasnt reached the stage of telling me when she wants to go out yet.
What did you feed your puppies. My breeader fed her on Nutro complete (80 %) with raw meat. I can't stomach the raw meat and my vet was against me feeding raw meat because of bacteria in it. She's starting to turn her nose up at just the Nutro (the breeder said you can give 100 %) can't say I blame her.

How do you stop them eatig everything in sight in the garden - stones, mud, plants, anything else she spots that she is not suppose to have.
My pyr baby as a guard dog - I don't think so. When anyone comes through the front door, she lies flat on her back to have her tummy tickled.

Akira as a puppy was fed on CSJ complete but she did still have her 2 milk meals for a while too usually weetabix with honey in the morning and rice pudding at night i slowly introduced oily fish vegtables rice pasta cottage cheese , eggs etc as i like to try to feed naturally as possible . Pyr's can be very fussy eaters and Akira wiull still turn her nose up at food sometimes she only eats when she needs to as opposed to Storm the piggy who would eat anything and everything you give him and probably 10 times a day if he got away with it , no wonder he hates being on a diet :D
Akira used to do exactly the same as Jd in the garden i was forever fishing things out of her mouth and it took me ages to teach her the leave and drop commands , i am sure she knew what they meant but being a typical stubborn Pyr she really did push her luck while i was working on those commands i took her out in the garden on lead most of the time so i could quickly spot her picking anything up , like everything else with a Pyr you needs loads of patience and consistancy , believe me if you let them off with something once they will always do it no matter what
