Title: Darren
Description: Meeko: Pics of my dog

Darren - September 14, 2005 10:55 AM (GMT)
Only found out about this site yesterday so now I have even less time for work.

Excuse the quality of the pics. They are from my camera phone. Meeko will celebrate his 1st birthday on the 27th October. My sister got a pup from the same litter so his brother is not too far away. I've had him since he was 12 weeks. He is a very quiet dog but loves to plays/sleep all the time.

I'm trying to train him as best I can. Only trouble I'm having with him is when he see's other dogs. You need a strong arm to hold him back. One thing I've noticed when walking him though, he get's an awful lot of attention.

Hi!

We have the same problem with Tiara, our female pyr, she pulls very much when she sees another dog, while walking.. And she barks too.. :/

Hellooo there, your dog is lovely. AND my Charlie is the same with all the pulling with other dogs. Its annoying people just look at you as if in disgrace, but he's much better now and we don't even use a halti or anything! :D.

Is there any chance that you got this dog from Glastonbury? he looks VERY like mine, even the little moustache lol. Unless they all have that.

thanks, Jay.

Long time since I last posted a pic. Below is a picture of Meeko with his Halti on. The Halti has been a revelation to both Meeko and I. He is much more responsive to my commands and he is getting along much better with other dogs.

He is 2 years old on October 27th. Time just flies by.

He is gorgeous as ever  Glad the halti has helped with his training , i would not be without gentle leaders for my 2 either they are a great training aid and give you so much more control than a normal lead and collar :D

I like his black on his face, looks good that does :D. When did you notice him start to go from being all legs and skiinyish (these dogs are never particularly scrawny lol) to being all filled out and mature looking like on that picture? Well he seems it from what I can see lol. Has he NEVER broken one of those haltis by the way? My dog just kept snapping them and we ended up paying for a new one every week until after about six of them and moving onto other types, we gave up with them.

Sorry for the late reply. Very hard to tell when he started to fill out as when you see them every day you don't notice as much. He has yet to break his halti.

Here are some pictures I took today.
