In a blind test, the AP gave temperature data to four independent statisticians and asked them to look for trends, without telling them what the numbers represented

Dork. You referenced an AP article. The AP chose FOUR statiticians.

which is close to the number of actual climate scientists who deny the consensus. dork.
if a small number of proponents is enough to sway you one way, then don't think you can have it both ways. dork.
if there was any slight trend at all to cooling, one statistician of their caliber would be enough to spot it.

I just like how you cherry pick the articles that suit your needs. You have always whined that "climate experts agree" yet in the AP aticle you post there were four people who have no background in "climate science".
Hack.

This study drips with irony. I have no doubt that temp data from 1880 to the present shows no significant cooling trend. Likewise, I have no doubt that temp data from the early 1800s shows no significant warming trend.
The criticisms of the cooling argument are precisely the criticisms many "infidel unbelievers" have in the warming argument.
Funny how that works, no?

| If you look at the data and sort of cherry-pick a micro-trend within a bigger trend, that technique is particularly suspect," said John Grego, a professor of statistics at the University of South Carolina. |

Show me a statistical study going back much earlier than the cherry picked date of 1880, that adjusts for urban heat and shows that temperature change is the lagging variable behind Co2 changes; then I will be a very skeptical believer. I will be a true believer when reliable temperature data can be obtained for a long enough period to repeat the above; right now the data set has needed too many corrections for any analysis to be truly reliable.
