One mean piece of malware...

Yes. It was nearly impossible for me to completely destroy.

SUPERAntiSpyware is the only thing I found that could kill it.

Got onto the primary computer at the shop. I was up until 12:30 in the morning trying to get rid of it, still didn't get it.

My wife had to spend hours on the phone with the Wire service and they had to go in through the back door to kill it.

Mean POS indeed!

no doubt... if it stays there long enough it can really do some damage. I spent probably 2 full days disinfecting my laptop. Good thing you had a competent person on the end of the line at the wire service...

1) This bug disabled the anti-malware program that was already on the computer.

2) The anti-virus program we use didn't even see it. Two scans and all it found was cookies.

WTH!?

I swear by Sunbelt Software's "Vipre". Antivirus and antispyware combined. Never had a problem with any crap getting on my computer.

If you're using freeware like AVG, you get what you pay for.
