Oh nooooowwwww we're puffing the chest on the Bengals!!! Bandwagoner.
Bucky7 - October 14, 2009 05:34 PM (GMT)
Can the NFL simply demote the Raiders to the NCAA and then promote USC to the NFL?
Seems that way you could kill two birds with one stone, the Raiders would stop playing inferior competition and USC wouldn't face any scrutiny for paying their players. :yup:
Oh wait, who am I kidding, they're not facing any scrutiny for that now....
Dal1as - October 14, 2009 05:36 PM (GMT)
I've followed the Bengals since I was a kid and loved it this weekend. After hearing all the Baltimore fans act like they were going to walk all over them... suddenly silence.

Oakland needs to go to NAIA before inferiority is overcome.

Oakland is terrible, but they played their best game by far against San Diego.
That doesn't say much for the Chargers.

The season is still young and the Ravens arent always going to hand over the game with penalties. Not to mention, the Bungles have clawed their way back to mediocrity on the shoulders of a former ravens coach.

Hey Sheik,
How about scaling that picture down so it doesn't fuck up the page format?
Oh also, the Bengals are sketchy. Too many close wins for me. Next 4 weeks should tell the tale for the NFC North, when some better competition comes to town.
The Iron Sheik - October 14, 2009 08:59 PM (GMT)
Looks fine on my screen.
Change is for suckers. Keep hoping.

Nope. But measuring Oakland's successes and failures against SD all the time makes you look pretty desperate. 0-12.

I know the Raiders are garbage. You proposed they drop down to NAIA. Should the Bolts go the D-III route?
OakBan - October 14, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)
Raiders are garbage --- its getting more difficult to be a fan of this team.
San Diego is good but consistently overrated in my opinion.
and for Bucky to make this suggestion is odd considering his Titans haven't won a game yet!

No, they are 2-2 and I don't recall anyone ever saying this about SD:
| QUOTE |
"Honestly, it felt like a scrimmage, like a practice," Pierce said in the interview.
"There was no vibe of trying or effort from the Raiders at all from a defensive standpoint against their offense. We're getting three-and-outs. You don't hear nobody (saying), 'Hey, let's go!' trying to pick the guys up, rallying them, getting guys fired up. There was nothing. It was quiet," he continued. "A guy gets sacked or somebody gets beat, they just get up. It's not like there's yelling or no kind of (emotion) about the way they were playing." |

This is the least ignorant thing you have ever said about the Chargers.

Sounds to me likes it's more of a motivation issue than it is a talent issue. If so, that seems to be coaching/management, and not having "NAIA" talent.
As for the Chargers, one of their wins is against an "NAIA" team. Whoopity-do!

as there's no team in the league as INFERIOR as the Raiders. 'cept maybe my Titans of course....

You're not alone. The Cowboys have been playing worse each week. They give up drives at the end of halves. Romo has been playing with a restrictor plate. They commit way too many drive killing penalties and too many defensive penalties that extend drives. No killer instinct. When they get a lead, they don't keep it, let alone build on it. No discipline and poor play calling in crunch time.
The problem with the Cowboys is 90% coaching and that's 100% Jerry's fault.
fridaygolfer - October 15, 2009 01:16 AM (GMT)
big games to me are, giants and jets. giants haven't played much of a schedule so far and i'm not crazy about any defense that blitzes as much as the jets do.
and the ravens and the vikings. the vikings haven't had a tough schedule to date and the ravens won't lose two in a row easily.
if the vikes win this one i'll be convinced they're for real.T

Maybe there's a lack of motivation because there is a recognizable lack of talent top to bottom. :o
