Title: A second Iranian revolution?
Description: Looks possible

HuffPo has the best collection of links and photos and videos i've seen on this topic.

It's the middle of the night in Iran and thousands of people are on their rooftops shouting ALLAHU ACKBAR and DEATH TO THE DICTATOR!

it won't get ugly enough.

If the situation deepens, it'll be interesting to see if the military gets called in, and how they react.

according to twitters, which arent exactly reliable but are the only sources coming out, army has refused to get involved but students are saying they're being attacked by hezbollah/mercenaries/paramilitaries.

Obama has no legitimate voice in this election. He talked down Iraq and delegitimized their elections. Kind of hard for him to now be the voice of reason when he couldn't even legitimize the Iraqi elections as a Senator.

Our most partisan Prez to date is about to be tested in a big way.

Someone sounds hurt that his party's pres spent $2T and 4,000 American lives and didnt achieve as much as Obama may have with one speech.

Persuasive argument about Iran. But not as persuasive as "who is in power in Iran right now?"

No wonder our intelligence community is so jacked up.

Riveting or otherwise.

Dal1as - June 18, 2009 03:06 AM (GMT)
Not sure where noip is going with this but I have to agree with him. This hasn't gotten ugly enough for any real, and I hate to say it, change to happen.

Obama is too much of a pussy to get involved... Looks like we're going to leave them hanging again. ::(:

no one in particular - June 18, 2009 03:13 AM (GMT)
leave them hanging? They'll always be on their own.

Maybe a Bush style "lie through your fucking teeth" overthrow of a brutal dictator type operation?

I wouldn't mind covert operations but just a few words supporting "change" in Iran would help.

Covert ops that Bush started might be continuing.

Yelping "Change,Change!!" might not do much for opening some sort of dialog that this admin has been trying to do. Mousavi probably has a snowballs chance in hell of prevailing anyway.
