I told you this would happen eventually. it's a long war, and Sony knows it. HD-DVDs demise can only help the PS3. it was genious building Blu-ray into every PS3.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - January was a good month for Sony's video game business. For the first time, its PlayStation 3 outsold its own PS2 as well as Microsoft's Xbox 360.
And with Warner Bros., Netflix and Wal-Mart recently embracing Blu-ray Disc over HD DVD, sales of the PS3 -- which contains a Blu-ray player -- ought to remain robust.
According to industry tracker NPD, Nintendo's Wii was still king in January, though, with 274,000 units sold in the United States, followed by PS3 at 269,000 and Xbox 360 with 230,000. |

I didn't buy the xbox 360 for playing movies, I bought it for the gaming
I think the companies actually make their cash on games, not the gaming units if I remember correctly
are PS3 prices dropping much (if at all)?
and only the high end xbox 360 plays HD-DVD's if I remember correctly

yes, PS3 prices are coming down. I figure they'll be around $300 by Christmas.
you can buy the external HD-DVD drive for the XBox 360. seems like a hassle to me when they could have just built it in.
and yes, they make money on the games, but the PS3 is far more than just a game system.
so how many years does sony have before next-next-gen digital storage?
