Newcastle striker Patrick Kluivert has all but ended his international career as he announced that even if he was called up to the Dutch national squad he would probably turn it down.
The 28-year-old forward -- scorer of 40 goals in his 79 international appearances -- told the Newcastle Journal Monday that he felt his priorities lay with the Premiership club, whom he joined from Barcelona last summer. |
Kluivert probably still has ill feelings from Euro, who could blame him though.
hes not as good as he was in my opinion, still a good player but he knows himself that there are better players than him out there who will do a better job than him!
Kluivert was always fairly good for the Dutch in international play though. Had he been in the lineup in Euro the Dutch may have been able to advance farther, I didn't like that move to bench him at all though, some of his best matches came when he represented his country.
