Well.. after reading the announcement from Wizkids about getting rid of the Retirement BS, It has renewed my interest in MW (Most of what i have is pre AoD.)

My Gal and I just moved to Las Vegas and plan on going to the Con there.. I am hopping that there will be more MW tournies or even just casual play (I see only 1 MW tourny listed)

How does it compare to the old battletech games? I used to play that and still have a lot of miniatures for it.

Well, with the Wizkids game system, you dont have paper work like you did in Btech. All the info you need is there on the dial that the mech piece is on (be it Tank/Mech/Vtol/Army). As with Btech you could design your own mech.. with WizKids MW you cannot do that. Play is alot faster than Btech. Plus there are differ ways to get points to win a battle (Victory conditions they are called).

If you do some looking around.. you should find some Pre-AoD (Age of destruction) boosters out there at a good price.. but now that Wizkids has gotten rid of the banned retirement sets.. I would expect to see the prices start going up on the old boosters. Here in vegas a booster of Fire For Effect is 4.00 and the Post AoD is 6.00 (Age of destruction was where Wizkids kinda redefined parts of the game) hence the Pre and Post AoD talk.

Even if there is no Wizkids promoter there.. i have enuff pieces to make many of armies and always willing to teach and/or show other people how to play the game.

Running an event to show people is the best way to get them hooked and insure more players in future years.
