Title: Mystery
Description: Maybe a couple of ideas

So, I was thinking about Clue because it's a good game. I like it. Another good mystery game is Mystery of the Abbey. After that I asked myself what other 'mystery' games were being run. Perhaps we could run a couple of Live Action mysteries. As a resident assistant, we had to do training with little mystery games and such. There are a variety to choose from if anyone is interested in that sort of thing.

Ofcourse, I'm hoping Clue and Mystery of the Abbey will be run just by some one for the heck of it. But other good mystery games are always fun. And good group games too!

http://www.murdermysterygames.co.uk/ This site has a few interesting selections. We'd need a little bit of room to pull something off though, but don't we have a special events room for such random games?

Then there was a game where everyone's in a circle and there are two killers, one detective, and two angels. Works best for large groups of people, may be best played in the staff lounge - or at the next volunteer social! Ooooh... gonna have to remember that. Anyhow, this is just something to brew. ttyl

Werewolf (not the RPG or the LARP) is similar to this, and I'm running it Saturday night (on the schedule). Every "day" the villagers try to hang a werewolf and every "night" the werewolves kill a villager. It also goes by another theme, Mafia. It will require a big group (minimum 10, maxiimum 25), will be a real hoot, and is most definitely full of mystery.

Sounds spiffy, thanks for the heads up! I really enjoy games of that 'mystery' genre. B)

There are a couple of puzzles that are the mystry puzzles, the picture does not match the box, and there are cools in the story that after you read it, and solve the puzzle. You solve the crime.

These will be out in the open for people to solve if they wish...

By out in the open, will they be in atrium open gaming area or kids area? Or a designated area?

ThePhoenix - June 27, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
We will have a pre-designated area to try out the puzzle thing, near the youth area, so that parents watching kids will have something else to do...

These were great at last year's con - especially the mystery puzzles. Even "The World's Hardest Puzzle" fell to our nimble fingers in like 24 hrs, but the mystery puzzles took almost the entire convention to figure out, since there was no master image to reference.

I also love the mystery board games though. I remember playing a variant called Clue: Master Detective. Basically the same game, but with twice the suspects and weapons. Interesting, but not much in the way of "new" gameplay. Anybody know any other good mystery board games?
