Title: Earthdawn, Any Edition
Description: Prehistory fantasy setting for Shadowrun

FigmentofYourImagination - June 19, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
Earthdawn is a great fantasy game system and campaign world. Will anyone be running, and if so which edition: FASA, Living Room Games, or Red Brick?

I did not know that Earthdawn was a pre-runner to Shadowrun!
Now that FASA is gone, and the two games are produced by separate companies, they may no longer keep that. But yes, Earthdawn was set when magic was dropping from it's peak on the magic sign wave while Shadowrun was set when magic was rising from it's valley on the sign wave of magic. Barsaive was set somewhere in central Asia if memory recalls. Queen Victoria was the elven queen of the Bloodwood in one of the novels, and some of the weaker horrors were just starting to make it into the world from the astral plane in the Shadowrun campaign (like that hive of insectoid horrors in Chicago).

Cool, like I said I did not know, and I've played in both worlds...

I know several of my friends who are going to be running other games at the con are huge Earthdawn players. I'll have to check back with them and see if they were including it in their GMing schedule.

What's the verdict, ECM?

Our friend Giorgos is a huge Earthdawn fan. I'm surprised he's only running one game of it but there it is, Friday evening. I guess Buffy took the rest of his time and dedication. He's a big fan of that too.

By "Classic" can we assume that he's using either the FASA or Red Brick rules, and not the Living Room Games rules?
