Title: Online Now
Description: An faster messaging system
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 01:49 PM (GMT)
This is for when you see some one or multiple some ones you know and want to say hello or some such. Sure, you could message, or you could just post a quick hello, what's up and briefly talk about the weather. For instance,
Good morning Rob! How are you?
Velkyn Velve - June 6, 2006 01:55 PM (GMT)
Good morning Tiff!
I am doing fine.
What up?
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 01:57 PM (GMT)
Not much, it's gonna be a crazy few weeks before the con but a lot of fun! I look forward to Highland Wars in Flagstaff. That'll be a good time.
I'm killing time at the Commons. I work pretty early but it's good cause then I get off prety early as well. B)
Anyway, how are you doing this morning?
Velkyn Velve - June 6, 2006 02:09 PM (GMT)
Hmmm. Well, I reckon I'll get ready now, get some breakfast and head to campus early.
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 02:11 PM (GMT)
If you come by, we can hang out for a little. Chat about Con stuff and such. I could use an MU run.
ThePhoenix - June 6, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
Hello Tiffany and Velve, see your up early this morning.
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
You as well. But that's pretty usual. I like the morning shifts - my coworker came in grunting and apparently less pleased with being here at 6am.
ThePhoenix - June 6, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
Well after so many days of doing nothing but site updates and working to get events posted, I needed a change of pace, and needed to run over here and look at the forums that I had been neglecting. Good to see it was in capable hands however.
Velkyn Velve - June 6, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
We've been having fun with it. :D Part of the fun for any of these kind of events is the anticipation. I'm hoping we'll meet more and more new people through this forum. Our volunteers should be joining up as well before too long. This Saturday will be an interesting, and fun, event. I just hope plenty of volunteers make it out to Mesa.
I've been pretty bored at work, too, so I'm working on the Flagstaff list. I'll probably work on a Prescott list after that. Is it due to sheer determination to make this event dynamic and wonderful? Is it due to dedication of the highest esteem? Or is it due to the kind of grating boredom that comes with working at a university during the summer? The world may never know....
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 03:56 PM (GMT)
Feel free to delete this post but I'm going to grab some H20 at the MU. Laterz!
ThePhoenix - June 6, 2006 03:59 PM (GMT)
That’s great, I appreciate the hard work that went into planning and executing the Tucson trip, so any of that dedication pushed in the way of the Flagstaff trip is a big help for those that are going on the long trip to the northlands.
Tiffany - June 6, 2006 04:17 PM (GMT)
Here's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking we'll have more than enough to promote at R in the Pines for the most part, and if we're already up there, Chris and I or Rob and I could go into other areas of Flag and hit up the other most important stuff. Saturday the stores should be open and we can get to it during the day while hanging out in the morning and evening and still being able to enjoy R. in the Pines.
It's really the only time I can think about putting out promo. there. We'd have to have enough people to spare people though which we can pull off.
CajunGoddess - June 9, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
Well I can't see any of you, and you're not online, and I don't care. So there. I didn't want to talk to you anyway. I'm very busy. And I'm coming down with a cold. And... I have a lot of things to do. And... I can't be bothered with long conversations anyway. So there. There you have it.
Anybody out there?

Tiffany - June 14, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Hi Jo! Good morning to you! I have been up for a little bit but I have early work. Lets me have early evenings so it works for me. Sorry I didn't call ya back, I was at the gym late last night. So far, so good in that regard.
Are you going to Highlands War?
Jo the Schmoe - June 14, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, I'll be there. I'm in charge of parking for the event, and I'll also be helping out with security as well as an auxiliary autocrat.
I'll be there thursday and porbably wont' be back int he Valley until Monday afternoon.
My best friend will be coming in from Indiana. You'll have to meet him, he's a hoot!
Tiffany - June 14, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
Wow, you're doing quite a bit for those guys! Heck, we were gonna invite ya to camp with us but you probably have a bunch of people extending the invitation! Pretty nifty.
I don't know TOO much about it up there, just that we need to go promote. So far it's me, Chris and Rob. We'll get a few others as well. Do you have a Barony you consider yourself part of? (I know East Valley is Twin Moons).
Anyhow, sounds like a good deal for you, we'll be around all weekend. Be happy to meet your friend, I'm sure he'll be fun to hang with!
Jo the Schmoe - June 14, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
well, when I lived in Flag, I was a very active member of the Barony as well as one of the co-founders of the NAU chapter. I've autocratted all of their events at least once, and I was the seneschal (or president) of the flagstaff chapter for a year. So yeah, my ties with them go WAAAY back.
Currently, here in AZ, i'm affiliated with the Barony of Atenveldt, which is the Central Phoenix Barony. I'm also involved with SunDragon, which is the West Valley Barony. I'm also famailar with the folks in Twin Moons, and I've got lots of friends in the ASU chapter, the College of Brymmstonne. Oh, and I've got people in Sierra Vista and Tucson too.
I haven't been as active in the SCA as I was when I was in flag, but I still go to FP and events. In fact, I'll be going to an event this Sunday as well as Next Saturday. Oh, and I do costuming, Calligraphy, Illumination, and Embroidery.
...
Damn...I just sounded like a total nerd. *shrug*
:D
Tiffany - June 14, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
That's an impressive SCA resume you've got there! Wow, I don't have much of a response other than good on you. And now with the gaming convention, you have covered most Valley geek genres.
Seneschal? Really? That's really cool! I know some people here and there from Schadenfreude and Brymstone but not many and I want to get to know more.
:D But yea, quite a history there.
Jo the Schmoe - June 14, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
well, if you ever feel the urge or aren't busy, I'll be more than happy to introduce you around. FP at Encanto Park on Wednesday nights is good to start. I'll also be more than happy to introduce you around at Highlands War as well.
Same goes for your folks, too, although They may already know more people than I do.,
Tiffany - June 16, 2006 10:06 PM (GMT)
(a couple days later)
Hello Mark and Phoex. How are you?
I"m almost off of work... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get here at 6:30 in the AM.... which does not, in fact, rock my socks. But I also get early evenings which makes me happy.
Update: Mark and Phoex have left the building. Eh, oh well.
Tiffany - June 22, 2006 10:28 PM (GMT)
Jo, do you do any of the weekly SCA meetings? We went to one last night but there are a couple others we have to hit if you'd be interested in joining us. :)
Jo the Schmoe - June 22, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
I was at FP last night. I was only there till about 8 or so. I'll be happy to hand out fliers there as well as the West Valley Practice on Sundays.
Lemme know.
Tiffany - June 23, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
So, you usually on this time of the morning? I work pretty early during the summer. But I like it. Ony drawback is so few others are awake....
Jo the Schmoe - June 23, 2006 04:19 PM (GMT)
I work 8-5 Monday thru Friday and I'm usually online off and on throughout the day. This new gig is pretty laid back, so there's not a lot of problem with popping in online every once in awhile.
Of course, it also helps when your supervisor is on vacation. :D
Tiffany - June 23, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
Yea, I can see that. I work at a computing lab for ASU students but with it being summer time there are probably three or four easy questions an hour or so.... gotta kill a lot of time. Webcomics, forums like this one, and one or two books have been helping me through the boredom.
This is such an easy job. So, supervisor on vacation? Very cool.
Velkyn Velve - June 23, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Tiffany - June 23, 2006 08:21 PM (GMT)
Hey Rob. What up. I'm just hanging at Coor, doin' the work thang.
Velkyn Velve - June 23, 2006 08:36 PM (GMT)
Oh, I'm just up. Had to write a response thing for my class.
Long night....headache....still here a bit....
Arthur and Gumbi were over for gaming.
Tiffany - June 23, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
What kind of gaming did you guys do?
Velkyn Velve - June 23, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
Soul Calibur 3 and Smash Brother Melee
Tiffany - June 23, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
I think I should spend an entire weekend in front of Chris' tv with his PS2 and Kingdom Hearts. Maybe I would actually finish it.
I've never played either of those two games but I've heard them talked about ... a lot.
