So what is SPORE? When does it come out and will we see it at the con? I've heard of it but that's about all. I don't know much about it other than tidbits that I've picked up upon from Chris. Is it a computer game or an electronic game?

Spore is the newest project of Will Wright, creative mastermind behind the "Sim" game franchise, including SimCity, SimEarth, SimTower, SimIsle, SimAnt, and The Sims. Wright has always loved the idea of being able to design your own (insert collective noun here) from the ground up, and Spore takes his dream to new heights by allowing players to literally grow their own civilization from the first one-celled critter up to the level of galactic exploration and conquest. Words do not do justice to how detailed this game gets. Instead, if you've got a spare hour or so, watch this video clip of Wright showing of a demo version at a recent expo.

:o Thats sounds so cool, reminds me a little of sim earth, only at a micro scale! I want to watch the clip but when will i find the time, damn work gets in the way again! arrrrg :angry:

If you've only got a few minutes to spare, just start the clip and jump to a random spot in the middle to watch for a little while. The gameplay that is shown off is unbelievable in depth, and yet surprisingly simple.

Spore is going to be the best game ever!

I've heard that it's going to come out sometime in the Fall this year, but places that seemed that they would know better say next year sometime, I think in the Spring, but not entirely sure.
