I hope someone is running some Settlers of Catan, since it's my favorite game. Someone? Anyone?

Tiff and I are trying to talk some friends into doing it, since we're both going to be slightly preoccupied at the con. But if all else fails, I might just have to bring a set for open gaming between shifts. Hopefully someone steps up and throws down an official event or two. Any takers?

I WILL BRING my really cool handmade Settlers Of Catan, but just for playing with a few good friends. (ie: no 7 year old kids with dirty hands who think they're Settler's Champions because Mom & Dad let them win now and again)

Prolly keep it up in the Staff Lounge.

I remember that game, it went like 6 hours or something...

It was awful. Like a nightmare. There I was, with my favorite game, ready to finally sit and play after working so hard. Then they appeared, like evil little virus carriers of doom.

"Can we play?" They asked innocently, masking their potential to wear on a saint's last nerve with angelic little faces. "We know how. Our parents let us play all the time......"

Some people have children in order to leave a legacy, much like artists paint and writers write. I would just like to remind everyone that most art and most books really suck.

And now that I've said what I had to say about children....


I very much enjoy Settlers of Catan. I do not own it, and I won't run it, but I 'd definately be happy to join a game or more.


(Just not that one Wall of China version thing. I played it once, and quickly became unable to win, thus I decided to help the Mongolians.)

Speaking of which, are there any plans to play with any of the expansions to the world of Catan, or is this strictly a core game?

The wooden set, which I have gotten to play on, very nice....

is simply the basic game.

I'm sure the person who made it has plenty of time before the con to knock out a couple expansions. ;)

I'll ask him and see if he can do it. He told me that the Hexs were the hardest part, having to cut them all special for the game.

I made that suggestion to Cheeze (Michelle), so hopefully she will run a 6 player, 4 hour SoC game with all of the expansions at the Con.
That should be a lot of fun :D

Cheeze and I have gotten all of our events submitted and approved, including her 6 player Settlers of Catan game with all expansions which is Saturday morning. :D
