Title: Have Something To Donate?
Description: Not just for used games anymore...

CajunGoddess - May 21, 2006 08:54 PM (GMT)
Instead of a USED GAME AUCTION we're having a CHARITY AUCTION this year. (We can and will include new and used games, but the proceeds go to charity).

We figure if you really want money for your used games, you'll sell them on EBay. But a charity auction opens us up to being able to sell a lot more to our attendees, and the money goes to the SUNSHINE ACRES CHILDREN'S HOME.

So if you have anything to donate or know anyone who wants to donate stuff, let us know. In face, you can post here along with your contact info and our charity auction guy will contact you.

We're collecting a lot of cool stuff, so bring money to bid!

Can it be stuff that isn't a game? I have stuff I would just send to the goodwill but if you guys can use it Id prefer to help out that way instead. Books I have too many of.

Abso-friggin-lutely. That's half the idea of expanding this from just a used game auction. Put it this way: if you think there's a chance someone will pay a dollar or more for it, donate it. Our charity doesn't care who bought what, they'll take the proceeds (within reason and with due consideration for all local, state, and federal laws, obviously ;) ), and you can claim the tax write-off. Everyone wins!

The only restrictions on what we'll auction off are, "Is it legal?"

If the item in question isn't appropriate for sale to a minor, we'll simply limit viewing/bidding to those of age. But we'll be grateful for anything you'd like to donate.

It doesn't have to be a game so much as something you think gamers would like.

Books? Definitely.

Costuming? Bring it out!

3 hours of your time to be someone's personal ninja-monkey? Can't have too many ninjas!

Electronics and other tech-stuff? 100%!!!

Gift certificates for your business? Excellent!

Home-baked cookies and snacks? Gaming works up an appetite and that would be amazingly well recieved...

Bid early, bid often!

We should totally auction off Monique... that would fetch a decent amount from the gamer community!!! Hey 'Nique, you up for it? :P
