Title: O&g Brigade
Description: 109 fig. box
Kees (aka Ghenkadh) - October 8, 2009 06:39 PM (GMT)
Wandering through the pages of Maelstrom, I found out about a new O&G brigade box (and an Empire brigade box).
I looked further on the Internet and saw other shops have it too posted. Then went to WarSeer - quoting Avian:
"Thanks to rich1231 (Wayland Games) and Scryar in the Darkness we have the following, price £100:
ORC & GOBLIN BRIGADE - 109 Fig Box
The contents of this box is not known.
Release date is 28th of November. "
Well, to say the least, I'm very curious....
(BTW Maelstrom has it cheaper...?)
If this belongs to another page, moderators, pleace replace it will you?
Cheers,
Kees aka Ghenkadh

Interesting, I for one though would not risk £100 without knowing the contents.

I'm fairly sure they will announce what's in it when it goes on pre-order at the latest!
I won't hold my breath for anything that we can't already buy though! (But new stuff would be very nice!!)

Funny story
I called to order the "limited edition" orcs and goblins all plastic army they have advertised. It's still on the website as for sale, however, it's listed as unavailable, and I asked why they did that. They said in the very near future they are going to release another box set similiar to that one.

Hate to say I told ya so but...
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod330002aEverything in that box is great for a starting army (well maybe not the black orcs so much)
But I am just starting out my army, and I have mostly metal (savage orcs, some boys, some night gobs,) and this right here will pretty much round off the rest of my force. It's on my christmas wish list.

Yep! Just got the email notification. It's a nice boxed set. It's got a lot of good stuff in it. I would recommend that boxed set for anyone just starting off. I didn't always do that for the last few.
It's limited edition, which makes me wonder.....
There have been rumors of a new boxed set this upcoming summer. I wonder if they are trying to clear out inventory for whatever new is coming.

Hmmm I dunno, they didn't have any of the old plastic Goblins.

Hi guys, can you please write down the list of contents?
I cant reach that link.
Are there new minis?

Also included are 60 25mm square bases, 40 20mm square bases, 13 25mm x 50mm bases and one 50mm x 100mm base.
Please Note: This product is a limited-edition item and will only be available while stocks last.
Nothing new unfortunately.

Empire box is better IMO. Because the number of the models are weird.
Who sets up a 19 boy unit? Best is to use as 24 boyz, 24 biguns (boyz+b.orcs)
And I hate the number of 20 or 40 goblins. You cant place 25 or 30. They'd better include 60 n.goblins. A 20 gobbo unit seems to flee in 1st or 2nd turn. And who cares gobbos without fanatics. They'd better include 2 fanatics boxes instead of chariot.
Lets examine Empire brigade box.
Contrary to O&G, 20 man-sized infantry is ok with Empire.
20 swordsmen w/10 halberd + 10 xbow detachment
10 handgunner
10 greatswords (this is few, i see) w/10 halberd detachment
8 knights
1 cannon

Yes, the 19 size units for OnG are something commonly bitched about. There is even a stickied thread about it at the top of this forum.
Yes, the numbers aren't really there to make a functional army list, but it's a good start. You get that brigade boxed set and then just one box of orcs and one box of goblins and you are good to go!
