i am running a doubles tournement at my club at the end of november and want to know how to stop 1500 combo power lists from swamping the tourny to keep things fair.
never played in one or run one.
so any ideas.
read this months white dwarf article.
setups availible.
both lists get:-
0 to 3 heros
2+ core each
3 special
1 rare.
or
treated as a 1500pt list with both players choosing what they want in the army from each others lists. For 1500 points. (With no more than 60% [900 points] coming from either army.)
Heroes: 0-3
Core: 2+
Special: 0-3
Rare: 0-1
or is having a option for 6 heros 4 core and so on leads to much power gaming.
already had suggestions of " vc armies with 2 units of blood knights in 1500pts as been to cheesy.
so how much cheese do our tournement players find out there?
it will open to other non club members in the area.
We are organizing classic "Double Border Patrol" tournies for a long time in Turkey. After the publisihing of 7th edition and new army books, its getting harder to build suitiable armies to the rules. So, I plan to change the Double Tourny rules to below. I hope, it helps you.
a) Every army consists of 2 players. Players have a list of max 750pts.
B) Every player must have only 1 hero (who has the ability to be general, not BSB)
c) The hero who has the highest Ld is the army general.
d) Every player must have min 2 core units.
e) Every player may have max 1 magical banner.
f) In army total, there can be max 3 special, 1 rare units (*)
g) In army total, players cant use same magical items or "(0-1) units".
h) Players can place their heros only to units belonging themselves.
i) Players can choose team mates only from the same side or neutral side.
Order Side: Empire, Brettonia, High Elves, Wood Elves, Dwarfs, Lizardmen
Disorder Side: Chaos Armies, Orcs&Goblins, Dark Elves, Skaven, Vampire Counts
Neutral Side: Dogs of War, Ogre Kingdom, Khemri
(*) If an army consists of 2 High Elves players, then they will use their own restrictions.
thanks for that badrug, thats really usefull.
after more chat about it after i posted on here, border patrol was mentioned and it seems the way to go.
