Title: Space Hulk 2009
Description: No-one interested...?

Okay, so I know this isn't Orcs and Goblins related, but I'm very surprised nobody has mentioned the collector's edition release of Space Hulk!

From the pictures put up so far, I'm VERY impressed with the detail and such :D

Anyone planning on getting a copy?

I will consider getting a copy, I saw the pic's and I must say it looks awesome. I still remember playing it, quite a while ago.

Not my thing. Dissapointed by GW - instead of bringing something new or finishing things the community needs (armybooksetc.) , they're warming up old coffee. Bah.

WarbossKurgan - August 19, 2009 10:51 AM (GMT)
I'll be happily playing someone else's copy. No interest in buying it myself though.

(Three or four members of Flame On have ordered it!)

I placed my pre-order today. I'm just getting it for the cool models really, but playing with them will be pretty awesome. Cue the warm fuzzy memories :D...

This and heroquest were the first gamesworkshop i games i played. Though i have some nostalgic memories, not enough to cough up the cash.

If my son were a little older.....

I don't see myself playing it with anyone, though. I have a hard enough time playing Talisman or WHFB.

Nice pictures you are right. I'll hopefully find someone at the club to buy a copy so I can play! I loved it when it first came out.

The new GW space hulk looks fairly interesting. But from some rumours going around before the release I am quite dissapointed  . Some rumours read that there would be a modular plastic gaming board with possibly sliding door timers and even batteries. Turns out all these rumours where wrong. The price is also a huge letdown. The only positive thing about this new release is the awsome looking models. :D

As above I'd be happy to play someone elses copy, not interested in my own copy though.

I'm not going to buy this but I'll definitely have a go at it at a gaming night or something.

Had a good look at the minis a couple of nights ago; VERY nice. VERY VERY nice in fact. It is amazing how dynamic the poses are, and how good the detail for 2/3 piece models. I WANT THE TERMINATORS!

However, I aint payin' $165AU for them.

:(

It just isn't going to happen sadly.

The models are awesome and even better in person. The box contains 11 Terminators, with a mix of weapons (1 Thunder hammer and storm shield, 1 twin lightning claw, 1 assault cannon, 1 heavy flamer, 1 power weapon and the rest power fists.) One can be used as an awesome looking captain. Also in the box is a Terminator Librarian, 22 Genestealers and a Broodlord. The Terminators have some Blood Angels iconography. In addition to this there is a "cat" (it is involved in some missions) and a dead chaplain in TDA as an objective and all the counters, board and instructions, incluidng a background section

today we opened the box at my gw
the models were incredibly detailed and the board incredibly thick the box weighed at least 5kg

I played a quick game today at my local game store, too. The models were really nicely done. The 40K guys were wondering why the regular minis weren't done with the same level of detail.

I had played the consul game of this way back in the 90's and liked it, but didn't know much about the board game. It was a lot of fun! I had some rotten luck with my bolters jamming a lot and got half my squad killed. The sergeant just kept killing gene stealers in hand to hand combat, though. I got desperate and made a break for the target. I ALMOST made it, but died.

Very fun. If I had someone to play with on a regular basis, I would definitely buy this game. Maybe when my son is 5 years older.

I played the game yesterday and I loved it! I'm going to buy it together with a couple of friends to get over the price.... one reason I loved it might be that I won ^^. Although only my heavy flamer and another terminator survived I had killed enough genestealers to be happy about it :)

BarmyBob - September 4, 2009 02:12 PM (GMT)
well I love it! the price is NOT bad for what you get....5 terminators run $50 and you get twelve of them in this box plus genestealers and a great game, which sadly was OOP for far too long.
It plays well, the models are gorgeous and the price point is right on target in comparison to other quality board games.
