Any ideas on different, and creative skin tones for Trollbloods? I'm just kinda bored with the blue look.
Looks like you are having as much luck with Hordes threads as I am with Confrontation. Ah well.....
I painted Madrak for a step by step article in a past issue of Fictional Reality Magazine. Page 74 on the following linkhttp://www.fictionalreality.org/archives/issues/fr23.pdf
I went with a pale green colour rather than the blue which I did not much like either. I have also seen them done in a bone/cream colour which looks very effective. The article covers the skin painting but was mainly about how to paint tartan/plaid patterns. Maybe something there of help though.
well i wish i had some pictures of my red scheme i did for my trollbloods. But since i sold them early last year, i don't have any pics on this PC and would have to search elsewhere to find any.
Anyways, since i am always looking to do things differently when i painted some trollblood, i went for a red base tone. I actually used scab red as a base and then redgore, after redgore i started mixxing in dwarf flesh. The bellies were given more of the blend towards straight dwarf flesh. They looked really good and yet looked different. The key to doing alternate flesh tones is to have them look like actual flesh. So if you wanted to try something different, your best bet woudl be to go for a neutral muted tone, and not a bright color, and usually the highlights are best if blended with a fleshy color or maybe a bone color.
Good luck with the trollbloods. Lets see some pics when your done. I would still be playing that game except for the fact that where i live no one plays and i got tired of having to drive 1.5+ hours just to get a game in for hordes or warmachine. Both are great games.
