Description: Pirate Nation Beware
Goomb - March 17, 2006 04:43 PM (GMT)
Just as a little taste of an ongoing hobby project that my son and I have been working on for some time. I am working up a WIP for you all that I will be posting in the Paint and Hobby Section.
What is this project? It is the Emporer's Dreadnaught, an Empire Man-of-War that hunts pirate vessels in the Sea of Claws and Sea of Cathay. For a taste of what is chasing the infamous Hogwasha across the sea, here she is:

I will post a link once I get this thing on the P&H Forum. B)

Yaarrrrrr!
Caught with ya futtock shrouds spliced, and no mistake!
Heave-to ya chumbucket, or I'll give ya a taste o' Orcish gunn'ry!
Ahem..
Really nice Goomb! I look forward to watching the Emporer's Dreadnaught come together with great interest.

Avast there, Warboss Kurgan! Prepare to be boarded and sent to Davey Jones, says I. The Emporer's finest have you in their sights and are ready to deal some death to you scurvy dogs!
Cannons on the side.....hmmm. Not presently. I don't want to give my son any unfair advantage over my ship (when I build it). Here is a side shot:

There is a lot to do to it yet, and my son REALLY wants to play some games with it already (landing scenario, ship battles, etc).

That looks awesome!
The only thing it seems to miss are the ting on the back of the ship who controls it(cant remember the word in english right now). Are you going to paint it to, Goomb?
Chris
PS: Are the soldiers from Talabheim? The coulor on the uniforms looks like it.

Yep, it needs the wheel and some other details (i.e., stairs, sails, doors, windows, etc.). It is a Work in Progress to be sure.
The troops are Talabheim. They are my oldest son's troops. The all-red handgunner is his sargent. Goombette painted him, actually. I have since done some work on their skin. Yes, he has the great grey army.....he needs some confidence with painting. Oh, the brown cannon is my youngest son's. B)
Speaking of painting, I will be painting this after I add some details to it. I will be putting the WIP in P&H soon. ;)
