Well we need a frontpage and what better way to do it than the way DWQ did it :D

The following "rules" apply:
- must be a pirate theme, primarily a unit type from the army list we`re working on.
- the pic must either be taken with a white background OR on a scenic background, like a ship for example
- you can post single model, unit or diorama BUT still it must be a pirate theme over the greenskin models. You can ALSO submit a drawing or a sketch of with an orc pirate theme.
- you can post as many pics as you like BUT keep them in the same reply so it`s easier to find them.

What pic will be used? We`ll run a poll so that everyone has a chance to decide.

When do I have to have it done? by 28.02.06

What if my pic(s) doesn`t win? it will be used in the army book, either in the Orc Pirate Showcase or elsewhere in the book - this I can pretty much guarantee.

So everyone please get yourself ready, some of us have a headstart - I`m planning on entering myself :D

guys i think we should do a drawing for the cover. just like gw. than ppl take us more serious i think. in the book we can do next to the explanation a piccie of a model but i think the cover should be a drawing

I agree with Emoe here, we really should have a drawing for the cover, but we might not have enough artists here. I propose that we include sketches as eligable submissions, and that people vote for drawings they preffer over photos.

I kinda agree with you on the drawing for a frontpage, but I do think that a Generals Compendium type of front page is right up our alley. My bet is on the best diorama type of entry ;)

Besides doing it like this gives more of da `Paths members a chance of having their model on the army book frontpage - I like that bit :D

But since you`ve argumented so good I`ll update the rules for the entries ^_^

My friend Rach, who is a superb artist (has sold paintings and sketches etc) has agreed to do up some sketches for me. I just have to give her some photo's to base the sketches on (so probably some of WarbossKurgans & Reds painted/inked/shaded models if thats cool) and she can get to work. How good is that! :D

Now I do agree with that... evrybody can paint byt not nearly everyone can draw! Ths competition is a great way to attract attention to this place! ^_^

I can't draw at all, I'm the worst when it comes to that. Anyways I'll be joining the competitiong with a model. What I've been thinking about, is there any kind of stuff that is "must" on it, like some kind of conversion etc, or is it up to me?

Is there any "official" color scheme that will be used for the pirates, or is this up to me?

There aren`t any official colours. But I try to use more colours than just brown on my pirates ..haven`t seen anyone do the striped pants look yet (hint-hint).

As you've (probably) noticed I've done some progress! :D

Was it WiP?? Oh dang, my bad..but you can change the pic when you`ve got it done. Good for people to see that people are working on their entries ;)

I just had an idea for the front cover.

Now I know that lurking on these forums there are some Orcs & Gobbo's that are very talented with all this computer malarky and graphic design etc.

I thought that mabye one of those people could put together a lil' sumthin' sumthin' for the front cover, like fading a variety of the pictures together with the winning model taking centre stage.

Its pretty hard to try and get it across like I see it in my head, but I hope you get the jist.

What fo you think?

Something like that, just less rigid. With the pictures blurred into each other rather than seperate shots if you know what I mean.

And if everyone took their pics on white backgrounds of black backgrounds then this could be done more easily I suppose.
