Title: circle of dragons
DarkDestiny - May 23, 2004 02:39 AM (GMT)
It was time. The great festival of mordrac, was beginning. It was turning out to be a bright and clear day, not a cloud in the sky. Already the merchants had begun to see there wares, knowing that the people from all of the dragon nations would be there. It was a celebration of the peace, and a time where the merchants could see their wares at exuberant prices without worrying whether or not they would sell. They would. People from all over gave the city a new life, and there were many performers giving splendid shows. It was a celebration of peace and joy. It was a once or twice in a life time opportunity, and everyone who was anyone was there. Not every one who was anyone was there for right reasons however.. some were on the run.. For the festival was the only time the countries allowed their peoples to travel beyond their own waters..
In the colorful crowd Jean blended in seamlessly.. although in her home nation she would normally cause the peasants to run in fear and lock their doors and windows. She was dressed in the traditional clothing of a WaeDrae, loosely translated into common as Warrior dragon. she wore a pair of short shorts and a strapped tank top that ended just below her bustline, both in hot orange. While this would normally be revealing every inch of her exposed skin except for her fingers was wrapped in red bandages. It was as if she had been burned from head to foot. On her feet were sandals with straps that wrapped around her legs until they reached just below her knees. On her head was a cowl in bright orange that showed only a set of bright red eyes. Even they were shadowed unless you looked right into them. One last thing showed her to be waedrae. On a land where hair length showed status she claimed one of the highest positions. from the back of her cowl started a braid of hair that ended just above her ankles. It two was wrapped tightly in red bandages, showing nothing of it's true color.
On her home land the WaeDrae were a selected group of warriors chosen by their dragon god himself, through his priest of course, to carry our his will. Trained from the moment they could walk they were experts in all things bladed, yet the most skilled in the use of double scimitars, two of which she carried in matching hilts at her waist. Some waedrae were even rumored to have the power of the god himself. They were the wrath of the God. Yet she now ran from that wrath in the form of many angry priests and her own kind. At the festival she was hiding in plain sight.. for the priests had little power here. She stopped at a great fountain with 7 dragons watch spouting water to take a rest. She had been traveling for days..

Walking in, covered by a tan cloak, Lamont plowed through teh crowd of people grunting. "Where are they....where are they" He said in a stiffed tone. Underneath the cloak was his old armor, all torn and rusted from never taking it off, He hadn't slept in years, which was made clear by the bags under his eyes. His eyes shot around, looking for any hint of the unusual.
"sir" one of his subordanets dressed as a commoner addressed him "we have found nothing and lack any lead that may lead us to them". Lamont growled angrily "then don't come back until you do" He scolded and slapped the slaves face with the back of his rusty hand. "Now get out of here" Lamont ordered "yes sir" said the follower and ran off to look some more.
"I know your around here..I can smell you, I can smell your fear, your mind and most importantly...what you have that I want". Lamont strolled foward knocking down a small child in the way who cussed at him. "what did you say to me boy" Lamont grabbed the kid by the face and shoved him to the ground and glared hard at him. The boy was to scared to cry, and those who saw what happened weren't to happy.
"hey you, get off of him right now or I'll beat your ass into the ground" hollard one man". Lamont widened his eyes at the sound and turned to face him and any others that might oppose him.

Rathen continued his trek, becoming slightly worn out with each step he took. The travel was a boring one, but he was aware it had a meaning. He was unable to hault the dreams that burst from within his skull at night, so at some point he decided to except them. If they had all lead up to this event, he was sure it was of an important genre.
Arrving into the commotion, he let out a slight smile. He cruised foward, examining his surroundings. The day was half past, and the skies were becoming pale. He wore a leather chest cover, and the fairly normal pants and long-sleeve shirt that were shredded at the ends. He felt comfortable in this, and although it was the least bit protective, he was not worried.
Approaching a fountain that he enjoyed to stare at, he sat across from a woman on the other side. Trying not to seem intruding, he ignored her presence and went on pondering.
Sacrificial Hero - May 23, 2004 03:34 AM (GMT)
"The wind has changed. The shadows gather on this isle. These shadows extend far beyond the eclipse that my presence spawns. The black knight is here...I will destroy him and throw shadows upon the white dragon." Trent had travelled to the festival of Mordrac once before when he was 17, just after his father had been slain by white dragon assassins. His father had intended to become the black knight's servent, so the white dragon assassins had to kill him. Trent understood but it did not deter his rage whatsoever. He knew his mission, he wanted to to destroy the black knight himself to make the other dragons seem weak by comparison. He had come a long way from Chermont, the continent of the dark dragon and he was not going to allow himself to fail in his mission.
He walked from the port to the main area of the festival. He was clad in his black robe that covered leather armor. His signature sword strapped to his back. The blood-letter, a ceremonial sword from his father's temple hadn't failed him in the past. At the festival last year he took first prize in the warrior's tournament using it. He hadn't found who he was searching for that time but he intended upon meeting up with him this time around. The black knight was who he was after, he hoped that the black knight might join in on the tournament, looking for the dragon spirits. Trent knew that this wasn't his last chance though, only his best. He was in his primse a few years back but he was still much stronger now than he had been a decade earlier or would be a decade later. It angered him that he had so few chances in his lifetime. He approached the fountain in the center square and looked about. A warrior from the continent of fire was standing there. How ironic, a fire near water. "The dragon warriors, chosen fighters. I suppose you'll be joining the tournament won't you?"

"what did you say to me" Lamont snarled "What did you say to me" Lamont raised his voice and threw the boy across the ground. Lamont stood straight up and turned to the man who called to him. The man held a stern look on his face as if to show no fear. "you dare look upon me with that face" Lamont growled. Lamont unsheathed his rusty sword and showed it off in front of the man.
The crowd looked with undivided attention, in suspense of what would happen next. "Ha you call that a sword' The man moched Lamonts sword pointing and laughing along with the crowd. Lamonts sword was almost covered in rust, a standard bastard sword with nothing special about it, but Lamont has had it ever since he became a knight as a young man.
The man smiled and then drew his own sword which he kept hidden in his kimono he was wearing. "A fight you want" the man taunted "then a fight you'll have". The crowd cheered for the man who stood against Lamont, as did the kid Lamont tossed.
In a flash the man charged yeling with his long sword held high and ready to cut through Lamonts eternal body. Lamont screamed and threw his sword up before the man could even come close to him. The charging man screamed in pain and next thing everybdy knew. The man's sword was on the ground and there was the sword fighter knealing in pain and cluthing his bleeding hand. "who are you?" the man said shakingly. The crowd did noting but stare.
Lamont didn't asnwer, but rather held his sword up high and prepared to kill the man. He brought the sword down as hard as he could, but oddly the sword stopped just before it hit the man. 6 of Lamont subordinates appeared and stopped Lamont from killing him, eahc one holding a body part to hold Lamont back. "Lamont, put the sword away it's not worth it, you can't be known now, ths is the best chance we have, don't blow it on this guy" Spoke one of Lamonts followers.
Lamont looked at the man and then the crowd. He stopped resisting and asked his followers to let him go. Lamont placed the sword back into it's cracked sheath and began to walk away holding his head. Lamont can feel his mind slipping away from lack of sleep and obsession over the dragons power that beckoned to him day in and day out night after night. His followers walkeed next to him and tried to comfort him, while the people went about their business.

::The boat ride although very long had been so enjoyable. Leela had never been out to sea, and bathed in it's wonders for the many days it had taken for her to get to the land where the Mordrac festival was being held. Infact..she had never even been off of her little northern island. And she had never ventured outside her villiage.::
::But alas, she was now 17, and as tradition in her village, it was time for her to leave to gain more knowlege about the world, and to grow spiritually. And the best way to do that was to ahve experiences, and to see the wonders of other people and places.::
::Leela stood on the very front bow of the boat she was riding on with other people, who were not from her tribe. Leela had long flowing hair that fell in wave like patterns to her mid back. It was bright and as golden as the sun itself. She had a very cute oval shaped face, with big bright brown eyes. Eyes so large and with such dark eyelashes that she was often mistaken for wearing make-up on the boat, when in fact her tribe didn't even know what make-up was. She was very attractive...but did not know it. All she saw was the beauty in teh world around her, and in other people. She rarely ever saw herself.::
"I wonder how the festival could possibly be any more wonderful then the ocean is!" ::She said outloud to no one in paricular. It was true, the ocean had been so large and beautiful and breath taking, she had trouble imagining something better. Not only that but the ocean contained so many beautiful things as well! It ahd so much life.::
::But the land was getting closer, and the captain told her to get away from the boats edge so they could dock soon on the land the festival was being held at. Leela obayed and stepped back.::
::The boat had docked within another ten minutes, and Leela took her first step off of it and onto the wooden docks. Even though she was a good distance away, she could already smell all the wonderful foods, and hear all the different kinds of music! And the people, oh! So many different kinds, so many different colors! Leela looked to the wonderful colord clothes they all wore, then looked to her own garb. She wore the clothes of her tribe. It was a light tan indian looking like top with a simple red and blue zig-zag stripe near it's botom for design. She also wore a matching skirt that went down to her knees. Her clothes seemes plain to all these other people's, but Leela did not worry.::
::Extreamly excited about geeting into the heart of all the action, she hurried, running down the dock, her home-made flip-flops slapping the wood.::

Jean looked up to see a man dressed in armor who had addressed her in the common tongue. In her own homeland to do so was a capital offense punishable by death. Here it was nothing. She let it go. Besides there was.. Something about him. Controling the rage that lurked always in her mind she spoke calmly.
"As a DraeWae I do not fight for sport or money. If you would like to challenge me one on one I would have to decline. We fight for the Dragon God only He is the fire that guide's our blades and forges our hearts." The last part was a recital she had said almost to the point where it had lost meaning. Instinctively she reached for a cord hidden under her bandages and tunic around her neck. It carried a small silver dragon claw clutching a round red orb, with strange yellow highlights that danced across it once and a while. It was the only thing her parents had given her other then life before giving her to the order. She tucked the cord back away.
Sacrificial Hero - May 23, 2004 03:22 PM (GMT)
Trent sighed, he had forgotten how snotty the dragon warriors were. "I meant nothing by it, I did not know you were so devout to your ways. I met quite a few at the last festival who were more than happy to fight for sport and money. I have no intentions of attacking you so you may stand at ease." He shook his head and walked away, this girl had rubbed against him the wrong way already but there was something that he felt when he stood near her...almost as if he already knew her. He passed it off as hunger and began walking towards the many food stands.
DarkDestiny - May 23, 2004 03:35 PM (GMT)
"Truly" Jean said aloud to her self "The corruption of the order is rooted deep, if even here they have begun to forsake their vows" The conversation with the warrior who was.. Almost familiar showed her anew how bad things were already.. Maybe her actions had been too rash.. Maybe what she had done at the ceremony of firelight was pointless.. And now she would be slain in vain. Instead of depressing her, her thoughts only furthered to feed the rage she felt at the injustice of the world. She growled audibly cursing her fate, and the mark of the god's that was always upon her. Filled with the need for action she stood and surveyed her surroundings.. She had to find a boat or something.. Something to take her far away from this place. Far away from the wrath of her God.. and his blessing.

Lamont was slumped up against a small solid wall, breathing hard and clutching his head. His head was sweating hard as he breathed in and out violently, he was taking a rest as his followers suggested. He was all alone now, his worshipers had left to continue their job leaving him to himself...to think. Just then Lamont felt a small surge of power, but only for a second. "I felt it...what was it?....was it them?....it had to be them, Right?....it was, there's no doubt, I must find them, find them, find them" He began shouting louder and louder as he staggered up from the stone ground.
Lamont had no lead as to where it came from, and was pretty unsure if it even was one of the dragons, but he didn't care, not in the least. HE always hung on to the hope that he would find them, to pay themmback for what they did to him, and get his revenge, and what he wants.
HIs armor clanked and rattled from underneath the claok as he stood up. He looked to the left, then to the right to see if there were any signs of dragons on the festival premise, yet turned up nothing. He began breathing harder and salvinating. LAmont quickly picked a direction and ran as fast as he could towards a blind destination and bumped into an ominous looking man. "Out of my way creton" He hollard at the person and pushed him to the side to continue his search ((by the way sean that's you)).

While Rathen sat he noticed a man push another with a selfish remark. This made him furious inside, but he decided to stay out of it. Rathen had nothing to do with the people here, nor did they have to do with him. He hoped he could keep it that way and simply go on with his objective.
Standing up, he walked silently by the man who had just been shoved. He raised his eyebrow and slanted his head sideways. It was an attempt to tell the man to show the selfish one who was boss. Rathen continued to walk a slight bit farther, feeling comfortable with what he had done. He purchased a drink and leaned up against the stand, figuring where he should head next.

::There were wooden booths set up all over the place, decorated with colorful painted designs, and each booth had a many assortment of items that most of Leela had never seen before. There were pots, and jewlery, and foods, and cloth! everything she ever could have imagined! And more that she could not have until she ahd seen it! She had never seen real jewels before and awed at them at one stand.::
::There were ribbons and colorful decorations that hung above her. And underneath them woman in colorful garb danced, their light skirts twirling around them gracefully. Lella had never seen such amazing beauty in her life! So many people, everyone so happy! She watched children run down the dirt streets chasing after a small dog that yipped at them. Leela smiled an giggled happily.::
::She had little money with her. But what she did have would be reserved for food and other nessesities. Her Tribe didn't belive in hoarding possessions, and all they ever had in their homes back home were clay pots used to hold food or water. The only possession Leela had besides her clothes was the dragon clawed jewel that hung around her neck. Her family heirloom.::
::She clutched it then...asudden feeling coming over her. There was something in the air. Something called to her. Her spirit sensed it.::
"What is it. Is this Sihhwa(Seh-wa)" ::She asked out loud stating her Dragon God's name outloud. Leela didn't know, but something pulled her to the right. Leela, always one to listen to her spirit and feelings, since she was raised that way, followed it. She turned down the road to the right, passing by many more stands, and even a flute player. She took in it all, everything so wonderful. Then she saw what had attracted her attention. There was a large stone fountaint aht raised way up above her head. There were seven dragon heads all pointed upward toward the heavens. And each one spouted water that fell into the basin below. Leela could only stand and stare in awe.::

LAmont pused people aside in hopes of finding hat he craved for, for so long. The feeling got stronger as time went by, and still nothing. "Ahhhhh" he cursed in a low tone and pressed his hands against hs temples in pure frustration. He looked back and saw the fountain in clear view. IT was as if all the people were wanting him to see the fountain of the 7 dragons, to tease him, to tell Lamont that he had no chance of ever achieving his goal.
He growled "Damn you dragons.....I will find you...stop moching me.....I said stop" He became delirious and it appeared as if the stone dragon head were smiling and laughing at him. "I said stop it" He grew more aggitated to the point where he drew his sword and began to lurch towards the statues. "I said stop or I'll make you stop".
DarkDestiny - May 23, 2004 11:17 PM (GMT)
Just as Jean had made up her mind to head towards the docks, suddenly a man wielding a rusted blade was lurching towards her. He was muttering something incomprehensible and looked like he was ready to kill. Instinctively she drew both blades, and the unique sound of their special steel filled the air. "In the name of roldun I command you to halt sir!" Her training and the urge to release some of her anger gave a commanding bit to her words.
tintenfisch - May 23, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
Lamont continued to glare at the statues with ever-lasting hatred. But a voice brought him out of his mid day nightmare. He shook his head to get some sense into himself. When he was fully focused on reality, he was met by an odd looking woman. "Away with you, I have no need..." He stopped midway through speaking and noticed what was hanging off her neck. It was a dragon claw, symbolizing the mark of the dragon.
Through his broken knight visor he examined the crystal even more as if his eye's had gained the power of a hawks. On the inside he saw fire's dance and fliker on and off swirling forming shapes. "You...." he pointed his sword at the woman "who are you" his heavy eyes grew wider with excitment "tell me now"
Billy Shears - May 23, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
Rathen spun around, in the direction of the commotion. It seemed his searching for the answer was useless, for he had placed himself in the right spot from the beginning!
He approached the selfish and arrogant man who had stood in front of the fountain. This man was speaking to the woman he chose to ignore a few minutes earlier. Keeping silent, he waited for the woman's answer. Rathen was anxious to discover who she was as well.

((I take one day off, and all of a sudden this RPG is under way with 15 replies))
Luke Geodan walked slowly through the large crowds of people at the festival. It was quite a busy place, and everyone seemed to have something on their minds. However, he did not take notice to those around him. For some reason he had an uncontrollable urge to gaze at the dragon necklace that rested loosely around his neck. The world around him ceased to exist as he could only focus on the necklace. Though it seemed to be nothing more than a brown orb gripped by a dragons claw, Luke had always held it closely to him. According to the orphanage that raised him on the continent of Earlot, it was given to him by his parents. Sadly, it was the only link that he had to them. He was told that when he was only a baby, an earthquake struck his villiage, and destroyed his home. When the wreckage was cleared, their was nothing left but Luke and the necklace. Nobody could explain how he had survived other than a blessing from the dragon god Geode of the earth dwellers. He had held onto the necklace ever since.
Now, he was seventeen and searching for his own path in life. He stood nearly 6 feet tall with dark brown hair that fell down to the bottom of his neck. Since the orphanage raised him to be a farmer, his hands were rough and caliced, and always seemed to be sore. At the moment, he wore a torn leather garb, raggedy pants and a large pair of dark green boots.
Still staring at the orb, he seemed to be walking blindly towards some predetermined destination. He kept marching forward until he had a sudden inclination to stop. Finally taking his eyes off of the orb, he looked up to see seven stone statues of the dragon gods. Suddenly the world around him became alive once more.
"Something doesn't feel right..."
He checked in one direction. There was a wounded man being tended to. Apparantly he was in a sword fight... and lost. Next he checked in the other direction.
"Bingo."
A dark man had charged the statues, sword in hand. The only person standing in his way was a young girl who also had her weapons drawn. Oddly enough, the man stopped dead in his tracks.
"What on earth is going on?" He asked himself.
DarkDestiny - May 24, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
The threatening man pointed at her with his sword and demanded her name. Her name was a curse of death on all who heard it said aloud. So was her fate as spoken by the mouths of roldun.
She spat out her next words. "You may call me exsecror. In common that means Cursed. It is more of a name then one who seeks to do violence deserves to hear."
tintenfisch - May 24, 2004 12:55 AM (GMT)
Though no one is able to see trough the cloak and broken helmet, Lamont was smiling. "It shouldn't concern you, I have already confirmed what I wanted little girl" Lamont harshly spoke. Lamont was pretty aware that not all the dragon children knew of the dark knight legend. Maybe they did, Lamont just assumes so knowing it was a long time ago.
Lamont grabbed hold of his cloak with his disgusting unwashed hands forever red with the blood of the dragons, and removed the tan cloak throwing it aside. Underneath the cloak Revealed the ful body of the dark knight. The armor was torn in many area's, mostly the belly which showed off Lamonts terribly skinny body from lack of eating and drinking water.
The armor was now a faded gray of what used to be white when he was with the king of a land he has forgoten over time. The sword seamed to be about to break with all the scraping action that has been done over the years. His eye's were blood shot and the right eye was enitirly enveloped in white. The bottom half of the helmet had been eaten away by beasts and other weapons of war. The back of the helmet was shattered letting Lamonts long violet hair fall down to his shoulders.
His shin guard were terribly worn down and seemed as though they would fall off at any given time, his boots, full of dents and scorth marks.
"Now.............HAND IT TO ME" Lamont said extending his greedy hand "Give me your claw"
Sacrificial Hero - May 24, 2004 01:10 AM (GMT)
Trent's eyes flashed open at the sound of the word. "Claw?" He thought to himself. His heart began to race, this was it. The black claw that rest beneath his robes was beginning to heat up. he spun and stared at the man who had commanded the claw. It was indeed time, a knight in black that looked ancient. "The walking evil himself!" Unhooking the bloodletter from his back and running toward the crowd he screamed out. "IN THE NAME OF CHERMONT AND THE DRAGON OF THE VOID! I COMMAND YOU TO BE GONE FROM THIS WORLD!" He took off into the air, headed straight for Lamont and ready to cut him in two with the ceremonial blade.

Jean growled again and held both her swords in one hand. Then she tucked her necklace back away from sight. It must have fallen out again after she had tucked it away the first time. gripping a sword in each hand once more she narrowed her eyes at the strange man in the ill cared for armor. the warrior she had met before had begun screaming something about chermont and was charging the man from behind, she ignored him for the moment to speak her message.
"clentak locre, you will have to bleed me dry and burn me to ashes before you will be able to take my claw from me.. and even then you shall inhale my remains choke, and die." she smilled a hidden smile due to her cowl. "But i doubt you will get that far."
Billy Shears - May 24, 2004 01:19 AM (GMT)
"This explains it." Said Rathen, from behind Lamont. A slight smile came about, and from behind his back he pulled a short staff out. He swung it in lightning speed and haulted just ontop of Lamont's shoulder.
"I've heard stories.." He muttered, looking into the eyes of the woman across from him. He could hear the voice of another man behind him. It seemed the puzzle pieces of his unusual dreams were pulling themselves together, for he had seen all these people before..
tintenfisch - May 24, 2004 01:37 AM (GMT)
"Nicely said" Lamont complimented "And I'll be sure to do so, but 5x worse". Lamont noticed from the scream behind that one other was charging from behind with one already one him. "Come to me" Lamont commanded the air and in a split second 7 normal looking people bounded out of the crowd with light speed and surrounded Lamont, throwing the other one aside. The charging man was blocked with one of the knives that one of Lamonts followers had handy with him. Though they seemed normal, they were far from the word. (Sorry to mod you there a bit sean and matt, I hope you won't get to angry))
Lamont turned to face his new adversarys and was awestruck, those men too had a dragon claws, only one had black with a whirlpool of darkness flowing on the inside, the otehr a steam of lighting shooting and bounce all in the stone. "How lucky, 3 in one day, I can finally get some of what I want...no...what I need".
The skin on 2 of the followers began to melt away and disolve like wax on a candle. The crowd in the area was now running away from the noise in hopes of getting away and to not get hurt. The once normal looking people now resembled beast rather than human. "Streea...Vost..I will require your assistance now" Lamont asked the 2 melting followers
"Yes my lord" answered the melting 2 at the same time. after the skin was fully disolved it was clear to what they really were. One was a shark man, with blue riough skin, a human looking face, yet with bone crunching teeth and gills on his neck. The cloths shape shifted into a black kimono on the shark man "I Vost of the water's deep am now ready to serve" Exclaimed the shark man and pushed the Black dragon person back
The next of his subordinates to show himself took on a some what similar shape, yet instead of a shark it was more of a snake looking demon, with scales covering the entire body. It's mouth petruded foward like a dogs and fangs overlapped the lip with poison dripping from the tips. Above the mouth were orange eyes, so empty of life that it would seem like hell itself resided there The cloths faded away and became a tunic on top of a clerics dress. The knife has turned into a deadly rapier with a trident tip and poison dripping from that as well "I Streea of the earths blanket am now ready to serve.
Lamont laughed racuasly as the other folowers still in their human form took off out of sight like the wind, for they were not needed. "Streea...Vost..take care of the Black dragon one, I will handle the little girl in front of me...and keep your eyes sharp..that's the black dragon and thunder dragon your dealing with you know, so don't ruin this for me" warned Lamont
"Now Fire child....prepare....for here I come". Lamont charged foward with his crummy sword held high ready to bring down the Fire dragon.
Streea had jumped in the air with his elongated snake body and pointed the rapier at The black dragon man. Vost however charged at The black dragon and pulled back his sleeves to reveal his muscular arms equiped with extreamly sharp finns attached to them running up and down the arm. "Here we come, for the name of the restoration of the black knights name" cried Vost and Streea
Billy Shears - May 24, 2004 02:27 AM (GMT)
As Rathen saw Vost jet towards the "Black Dragon", he cut the Shark-like man off with his short staff. He swung it under Vost's feet and cause the being to tumble into the air. As he hit the floor, Rathen swung up the other side of his staff to reveal a somewhat long blade. He aimed it at the back Vost's neck, and spoke up.
"Do you surrender?"
tintenfisch - May 24, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
((sorry my mistake I ment for vost to charge not streea I accidentaly switch my own guys..heh heh sorry bout that, just chage the streea's in gelf's post to vost and all will be well))
Vost Smiled grinning his triangle shape teeth at Rathen "heh you think we're this dumb" muttered Vost and bit into the blade and broke off the tip. He chewed the pieces into smaller its and spat out the little chunks. "Idiot...do you take the sharks teeth for granted" questoned Vost to Raten. Vost brung up his right leg to knock Raten down so that he can stand. Vost looked down upon rathen and began his assult "Shark on gears"
Vost leapt a short distance in the air and began spinning with his sharp arm fins and teeth cutting the air and heading right for Rathen.

::Leela had simply been standing in awe, inspired by the dragon fountain in front of her, when it seemed the entire world went mad!!! A raving man lundged at the statue with a rusted sword, and a girl completely wrapped in red cloth stopped him. But then the horror started...two more men came to fight the provoker and help the red girl...but the man was more then he appeared.::
::He took off his cloak revealing very old desheveled black armor underneath. Leela did not know why, but fear shot through her entire body as if she knew this man from somewhere before. The dark man's servents came to defend him, and then...or it was so frightening! Two of them transformed into what Leela could only call demons! The demons attacked the two men, as the dark armored man went after the red girl.::
::Everyone at the festival ran in terror, screaming from the sight in front of them. Leela wanted to do the same. She wanted to run away...but she was so terrified that she could not move. She was petrified with fear. What happened to the festival she had come to see? What happened to learning about the beuty of everything? This was not what she had expected at all. And in fact the young 17 year old never could have expected anything like this. Never in her wildest nightmares had she seen such creatures.::
::All she knew was that she wanted to help these people. She felt like they were somehow her friends even though she had never met them before. She supposed it was because she was raised to be-friend everyone, and understand from others points of view..but there was no time to think about that now. Something had to be done.::
"..s...stop it." ::She tried to yell, but her voice only came out like a whisper for her fear was choking her. The terrible demon things were attacking those men!::
"..stop it!" ::Leela tried again. Her voice a bit stronger. How could there be violence in such a peaceful place!? No! She wouldn't let anyone get hurt! The dark man reached for the red girl and the demons lept. Leela's expression changed and her eyes squeezed shut. She put her hands to her head as if she might go crazy from what she was seeing.::
"STOP IT!!!" ::She screamed. And then...something completely and totally unexpected happened. Her bright yellow/gold dragon orb lit up, brighter then the sun, and it seemed like and invisable shock wave exploded from it. Light swirled around Leela for only a second before racing tword the dark man and the demons, bringing with it the invisable shockwave that could only be seen by the trench that was being carved out of the dirt ground as it raced toward the evil ones.::

Rathen leapt over Vost's head, and dropped the bitten staff onto the floor under him. As he spotted Leela, someone who he had seen in his dreams also, he landed. The shockwave approached, along with the woman Leela. As this happened, Rathen ran at Vost's back. He ripped a knife from his belt and in a wicked speed stabbed it into the Shark Demon. The knife only went in half way, not fully penetrating the tough skin. He knew it would accomplish something, so he kicked Vost foward and jumped backwards creating distance.

"WHAT" Lamont cried before leaping back to avoid the weird attack "Vost streea head's up" He called out. Quckly Vost and Streea tunred to see the dirt being torn up and knew it ment no good. Vost placed his hands on the ground and pushed off flying high into the air. Streea on the other hand made a sharp 180 degree turn and whipped his sword toward's a nearby building. The sword extended like a rubber band and caught hold of a flag post and pulled him towards it to avoid the attack.
Vost landed over the attack and landed feet first on the ground. Blue blood quickly rushed down his leg to his feet. "bastard cut me" Vost exclaimed and looked at the new comer. Lamont gasped at the new girl as he peered into the jewel, a massive ball of light lazily floating on the inside showed itself. "Light, this day keeps getting better and better" Lamont chuckled "I might need another person"
'NIAR" Lamont screamed "come here" he barked. Soon enough another one of the normal looking people came back in a haze of light to battle. The skin began to melt again to unmask the figure. After all the skin was melted, the creature resembled an ant. The body stood up right, but still had arms like an ant. The pincers loked sharp enough to pierce through steel. The beasts anttene bolted from side to side and it's black eye's gazed at the people. 2 legs and 4 arms, each equiped with a weapon of some sort. The 2 top arms had hooks, the next set had fists and the feet were covered in sharp looking spines each an inch high
"I Niar of the insects am ready to serve" It chanted striking a pose. It slowly turned to the new girl and took a battle stance

((Wow uh..I guess I kinda wanted my attack to be abit more powerful...you know, like actually hurt someone. Expecially considering this is the first time she's ever used her powers but uh...no going back now. I just though ym building up of it would have been a hint. <_< ))
::Leela blinked and opened her eyes. What had just happened? Her bright brown eyes widened. What had happened?!?! What was that light? Did...did SHE do that? Leela didn't know. She wanted to think about it a little more...but a new demon appeared in front of her. It had horrible looking mandibles, and it held an array of different weapons.::
:: Of course Leela screamed, and began to run away. What else was she suppose to do? She wasn't a fighter. She had been raised to be peaceful. Oh sweet Sihhwa! Help me! She thought desperatly, her eyes seeming like they might buldge out of her skull. She ran to an empty booth and ducked behind it for protection. There she huddled, hoping and praying the thing hadn't seen where she had gone.::
"..someone...someone help!" ::She whispered under her breath.::

Rathen was thrown onto his behind by the shockwave created by Leela. He was able to block the initial attack, but the force was still too much for him. He pondered for a moment how this woman could muster so much power, but he didn't exactly have the time to continue.
Leaping back onto his feet, he spotted the woman jump sideways trying to hide herself. If this was the case he knew he could not leave her be with a vicious demon coming after her. It was easily visual that this demon had seen her in the first place.
Running foward, he dodged around Vost, his default opponent. He approached the back of the insectoid being at full speed, and elbowed into it. All of his weight was forced upon the blow, he hoped it would throw the creature off balance. Maybe it would give the woman time to run..

Luke was absolutely horrified at the sights he was witnessing. He could barely believe his eyes.
"Strange creatures, ominous powers, and... and those necklaces..."
Quickly he looked back down to the brown orb on his necklace. Though faint, he could clearly see that it was glowing.
"What in the? This has never happened before. I don't understand at all, and yet..."
A strange feeling soon began to emerge from deep within Luke. He felt oddly linked to strangers that were fighting. Some sort of unspoken bond compelled him to want to help.
"I have to do something."
Quickly his eyes darted back and forth. If he was to be of any use, he would need a weapon. Soon enough he saw a large scythe resting against one of the shop stands.
"That'll do nicely." He said confidently. Ever since he was just a little boy, he had been using similar tools to help farm the land. No sooner had he spoken, he was dashing towards the abandoned weapon. As he ran, his feet hit the ground unusually hard. Though not apparent to him, Luke was leaving behind deep footprints in the hardened ground. Finally grasping the scythe in both hands, he turned back to the sight of the battle.
"Streea of the earths blanket huh? Well I don't know how he sees this world, but to me the earth is sacred. I won't allow him to disgrace the good name of Geode any longer!"
Weapon in hand, Luke charged toward the snake like monster. As he prepared for a horizontal slash to slice down the flag post, the brown orb of his necklace dangled out in the open. As he drew closer to the monster, the faint aura of the orb in the dragons claw grew brighter.
"Heh. Just like harvesting wheat back home. Prepare yourself Shrea!"

((none of us are supposed to have any control over our dragon powers at all at this point. We are not supposed to really even know that we are the dragons. We might assume but we don't know. when this battle end's i'm gonna do something that shall prove it.. Having a freak burst of our powers due to stress or rage or strong emotions is okay, and even appropriate also the festival occurs every 10 years not every year.))
The man had charged Jean and she had assumed a counter stance.. but then a beam of light shot out of no where and distracted him. Jean's gaze snapped to the source of the light.. a strange girl. Before she could once again attempt to attack the strange warrior who summoned even stranger beasts, he summoned a new one. He sent this one after the girl. The girl who apparently had little to no real battle training fled. The beast gave chase. Knowing that the girl was probably what the foreigners called a beginning mage she would not know how to deal with physical combat. She would be killed for trying to save Jean's life.. Just as Jean had tried to do for.. He mind made up she rushed after the two. Just as the bug leapt at the booth she caught up with it."Taste The finest va'roldraen steel!" she yelled and with one slash removed all the appendages on one of it's sides. With her next she removed the other set. With a spinning roundhouse kick she sent the creature flying away from the booth. Unbeknownst to her, her red dragon claw was glowing red are once again uncovered. "Girl! Are you okay?" She said her voice rough with the heat of battle.

::Leela had cowared under the booth in fear, but as she was not dead yet, she dared to peer over the top of the wooden table. To her amazment, there was both a man and a woman engadged in battle with the ant thing! The woman cried out, cutting the thing with her two swords taking it down! Leela still trembeling all over stood up shakily when she was adressed.::
"y...yes! I'm ok!" ::She called out waving a little bit. It was then that she saw the necklaces. The girl had abright glowing red one, and the man...teh man had one as well. Leela's eyes widened with wonder. She brushed her golden hair away from her face. It had fallen in the way as she had ducked for cover. She stared. She had thought her necklace was the only one of it's kind, passed down for generations from her tribe. To shockedto move, she simply stood stupidly, not knowing what she was suppose to do next.::

Rathen's yellow claw shined, and hovered up from around his wrist. This had never happened before, and Rathen found it intruiging. Yet again, he did not have the time to think about it further.
He approached Leela, along with Jean. Before he said anything he took a knife from his belt and tossed it into the back of the insectoid, making sure it was slain.
"Yes, are you alright?"
The girl replyed "Yes".
Rathen nodded, happy to hear he helped save her. He looked at Jean, and spoke.
"I will defeat the shark demon. Please excuse me."
DarkDestiny - May 24, 2004 10:04 PM (GMT)
Jean nodded to her fellow warrior. She would allow him the honor of killing the other demon.. she wanted to focus her rage at the evil warrior any way. Then the glowing of the other's strikingly similar necklaces caught her eye.. as well as her own. Her eye's widened in surprise.. but she had no time for magic.. The battle required strength and skill.. not magic. Giving the girl one more appraising glance to make sure she was un hurt Jean turned back to the battle at hand.
((Sorry if i sort of ignored your part in the ant creatures demise.. if you want I could edit your part into my post. I was trying to catch up with the 6 or 7 post since my last one))

((do you people know how hard an ant's exoskeleton really is if it was the size of a human.....same with the shark, trying to stick a knife into a shark is like trying to stick a toothpick into a bus tre...either way I'll just let this go...this time.....poor ant man...nothing has changed for him))
"Poor Niar, but he did what he was suppose to" Lamont grumbled watching Niar's parts twitch. Niar's arms soon began to scuttle across the ground and climb up Jean's leg and then clamp hard into the skin. The head began to wiggle back and forth at a fast pace and move very quickly caught up to jean as well and dug it's pincers into one of her feet. Soon the other 3 arms did the same to jean, each one chasing her and clamping down hard refusing to left go
Vost had regained his battle stance when Streea jumped from the flag post to avoid a newcomers attack. Lamont snapped his fingers at Streea and Vost to summon them near him. They obeyed and like they entered, in a flash they were near Lamont and in a battle stance. "Streea, Vost..that new guy...that's the earth one, don't worry about him though, he's noisy in combat, but still pay attantion to him" Lamont warned "now come on, time for gigas stance". Vost and Streea nodded their heads and took position.
First target was the earth dragon that had attacked, Lamont charged foward with his sword up high and screaming. Vost dissapeared out of sight with Streea as well.

(Yes, the armored torso is very hard.. but the joints? I figured the "at its side" described well enough that she cut close to the torso at the place where they connected. basically the joints. She is a warrior trained to recognize weakness and in all armors the weak points are the joints. Also the head is still attached.. so it would have to drag it's whole body. ))
Jean cried out in pain as the first pincer took hold, clamping to her leg through the protective cloth. Before she could react the others took hold. snarling with rage she stomped on the ant's head that was gripping her foot with her other foot and all the power of her martial arts training. She had been breaking through blocks of stone for a long time. It cracked at the place where the pincers joined the head. Then almost frantic with pain and furyshe hacked at the arms at the joints, with her duel scimitars, until they were segments. Panting with exertion and anger she finally used her scimitars as levers to pry the remaining pinchers from her legs slicing them in two as they fell. Some of the tightly wrapped cloth on her leg had been cut and began to unravel. She paid it no heed and concentrated on hacking the remaining pieces into smaller pieces. Her necklace was blazing now. She was really pissed. "Enemies that die should stay dead!" she yelled.

::Leela shrieked once more as the body parts of the ant thing went to attack her friend. Leela was about to go help...if she could...but the girl was quickly able to save herself. After seeing that the girl was ok, Leela turned tot eh rest of the battle. There was no way she could help. She wanted too...these people had necklaces like her. There was a meaning behind it all, she sensed it. She knew it was importaint, her strong and perceptive spirit told her as much. But she was no fighter. What could she possibly do to help?::
::Leela, although peaceful, was not a coward either. She just wasn't used to battles, and if it were your first time seeing a demon...you'd scream and run away too. So, trying her best to do what she could, she looked around her surroundings. There was a small building only a story high made of mud just behind the dark man and his demons. Leela saw a ladder that went up it's back...and she also saw the many large, and heavy barrels on it's roof. She ran over to it, and climbed up the ladder. Once on teh roof she ran over to the barrels and looked down. Yes, the Dark man was right underneath her. And his armor looked so old and rusted, that she was sure one hit from a barrel would crack his helmet, and maybe his skull. If not, it would at least be a distraction to allow the others to move in and get a damaging hit.::
::Leela put her hands against the first barrel and ushed with all her might, but it was no use. The barrels must ahve been full of water theywere so heavy. She looked around and saw a plank of wood nearby. She ran over and use it as a lever. She pulled down on it, and the barrel was lifted up and off of tehr oof top. It crashed down on her victim below.::
::Leela gave the girl in red clotha thumbs up sign, and smiled indicating she should take her chance and attack while the dark man was down.::
