I was running through an endless field toward the Indigo Plateu followed by my faithfull pokemon.

Everybody want's to get there faster... Make thier way to the top of the hill...

"Gahh!!! WHA WAH!!!"

I spun around tossing the sheets off of me smashing my hand into the most annoying alarm clock ever.

"Man... Only a dream..."
For now..


Today was the big day, the day I was finally able to get my pokedex. By the way, my name is Matt, and I'm going to be the world's greatest pokemon master!

"jason wake up" my mom said on that eventful morning. of course i didnt wake up...it was the first day of summer vacation, i mean....i always sleep late that day. she had enough for one day...i was supposed to get my first pokemon today. "fine...but if you want to tell professor oak the reason why you couldnt get your first pokemon today is because you over slept, be my guest" she said as i darted up as i realized i was gonna be late.

"oh man! i'm going to be late!" i yelled as i got my googles on my head with my blue jeans and the rest of my clothing. "SEE YA MOM! I'LL MISS YOU!" i yelle as i ran out of the house and towards prof. oaks lab.

I was awake and already out the door. It had been one of the very few times I didn't tell my parents I was leaving but It didn't matter. Pokemon was my life! I, finally, would become a pokemon trainer! It was a dream come true!
As I reached professor oak's door, I realized I was the first one their.
I raised my fist with joy. "Haha! Early bird strikes again!"
Slowly, and somewhat nervously, I knocked on the door, and in the matter of a second, Professor Oak was at the door with a smile.
"Matt Gelfman! Nice to see you! I take it you want your starting pokemon?" He said.
"You bet." I replyed anxiously.
"Ok, I have ten pokemon. There is, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mudkip, Torchic, and finally, Treeko."
I smiled, now this would be a hard decision.

I kept running and wasnt watching where i was going since i was too busy watching my watch. unfortunatly...i ran right into prof. oaks door and fell into his lab.

"you should be more careful jason....you'll get hurt" prof. oak said.

"your right.....injurie is something that seems to follow me everywhere i go" i said as i picked myself up. "oh hey matt...i didnt know you wre coming on the journey" i said as i walked over to the pokeballs. "so what are the choices professor?" i asked excitedly.

"Ok, I have ten pokemon. There is, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mudkip, Torchic, and finally, Treeko." he said. "pick carefully jason...this will be your companion from now on." he added.

"i think i know who i'm going to take!" i said as i noticed an eleventh pokeball. "hey professor....whats in that pokeball?" i asked.

"oh that.....thats a baby legendary pokemon....its the new prize for the winner of the indigo league" he said. "you cant choose it just yet" he added.

"oh...ok then...thenm i choose you!" i said as i picked up a pokeball and tossed it. "COME ON OUT PIKACHU!" i yelled as i became aquainted with my new pokemon.

After thinking for a few minutes I made a desicion. "I want Totodile!" I grabbed it's pokeball and let it out. "Hey, how you doin?" I said, smiling.
It looked at me, and started to dance.
"Uhm, professor, mines malfunctioning." I said.
"No no, it is just a plainly happy pokemon!" He said, an even bigger smile on his face.
"Ok..." I said, nervously.

" hey matt...how about we try out our new pokemojn in a little battle?" i asked him as pikachu jumped onto my shoulder. i was confident in my pikachu, he looked like a great basic pokemon to start with. "so...how abolut it" i asked again.

"Yeah sure. Mine might win in a DDR battle." I laughed. "Ready Totodile?" It suddenly stopped dancing and became serious. "Toto-dile!" I yelled.

"ok pikachu!" i yelled as we ran outside so we didnt wreck prof. oaks lab. pikachu got ready whil i stood on one side of the field. "lets go matt!" i yelled as pikachu began playfully punching the air.

"Go!!" I yelled, as Totodile charged foward. "Headbut!" I said. Immediatly, Totodile flew into the air head first and into Pikachu's stomach.

pikachu landed on its back.

"PIKACHU! USE SPARK!" i yelled as pikachu sprung up and shot little thunder balls at totodile.

"Dammit, not water!" I said realizing it's weakness. Totodile was hit and the electric shock spread across his body. "ToTOOO!" It yelled, falling on it's back dazed. "Come on Totodile, get up!" I yelled.

Last night i had been up till three unable to sleep. how could i when the the next day was the start of my pokemon trainer career? Still finally at 3:50 sleep had snuck up and bit me. it was no surprise i missed my alarm. I blinked my eyes open. The sudden cold shock of awareness hit me. I was late. I threw on some clothing, my jeans sneakers a zim shirt and grabbed my messenger bag. Throwing my shorter hair into a pony tail, and putting on my lucky reddragon cap, I raced out of my house with a shouted "bye!" to my mom who had just awoken as well. I raced full speed to professor oaks. Two boys were battling in a field but I had no time to waste learning who. I screeched to a halt just in time to miss ramming into the professor.
"Oh sorry Pr. Oak!!" i stammered out an apology.
"It's all right Jwar. You seem exited."
"Oh yea I can't wait! What do you got left?"
"Plenty you came just in time we still have many choices."
"OK, I have eight pokemon left. There is, Charmander, Squirtel, Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Torchic, and, Treeko."
I grinned it was a still a hard choice. Torchic or charmander?
"i choose... Torchic. I grabbed the pokeball."
"ah he will be good choice for you." The professor smiled.
I think I'll call him... Fire Talon. Come on out Fire Talon!" I threw the poke ball and out popped my new torchic.
"Torchic Torchic!" he chirped happily.
"Aww how cute!" I smiled a gathered torchic up into a hug. "he is so warm and soft." I rubbed Firetalon's head and he nibbled my hand gently
"yes well here is your pokedex." Professor oak handed my pokedex and I slid it and torchic's poke ball into my messenger bag.
"Good luck on your journey."
"Thanks professor!" I grinned still holding Fire Talon, who nibbled at my collar, and headed out side. I wanted to get to know FireTalon before moving out. It was finally time, and I could actually train pokemon. I reached into my bag and felt around. It was filled with clothing and necessities. The clothing was a nest for something else though. My egg. I had found it in the forest behind my house one day the week before. I wondered what it was. Whatever it was now I could train it too. I smiled again and looked up. The two battlers were Matt and Jay, I could tell now. I decided to wait till the battle was over before saying hi.
"torchic!" i petted Fire Talon who seemed very energetic.

((i want to use my pokemon nick name Jwar, Jay-War sounds like jaguar. The egg will not hatch for a loooong time like two or three gyms and it is mew. In the game it takes a certain amount of steps to hatch an egg so it will make sense not to hatch it right away.))

"ok...thats enough pikachu" i said as pikachu walked to totodile and helped it up. "matt, your totodile is pretrty strong" i said as i say jwar. "HEY JWAR!" i yelled as me and pikachu ran over. well...actually i ran, pikachu rode on my shoulder. "cool, you got a torchic...as you can see i took pikachu" i said as prof.oak came out and handed me my pokedex.

"jason...dont forget this ever, it will be helpful in gym battles if your in a jame, and it will give you vast knowledge of the pokemon of the different regions" he said.

"dont worry professor, it'll be fine" i said reasurringly. "well...should we start our journy? out first stop would be veridian city right?" i asked.

"you cant start yet, your fourth trainer isnt here yet" oak said. "he should be here shortly" he added.

"Jay, it isnt over!" I yelled as Totodile charged foward, bashing Pikachu from behind, with it's hard head. "Toto-DILE!" It said, happily, jumping from side to side.
"Scratch!" I said, and like the good pokemon it was, Totodile scratched Pikachu against it's already bruised back.

"matt! ok then...pikachu thunder bolt!" i yelled as pikachu jumped into the air. i didnt realize how strong his attack was...so....we were all shocked...including prof oak. "thats.......enough pikachu" i said weakly as i fell on my back.

"aaah!""Toorchiiiic!" FireTalon and I screamed as we both got shocked. FireTalon struggled in my arms trying to get at pickachu.
"TORCHIC TORCHIC!"
"No Fire Talon!" I said I grabbed his pokeball quickly from my bag. "Fire Talon Return!" I wasn't too happy either but with electric poke mon these things happen.
"Yea Jay I picked a Torchic, and as you can see I named him Fire Talon. I like to give my pokemon nicknames. I feel it makes them more unique." I smilled and fondly patted Fire Talon 's poke ball.
"Matt your totodile is pretty cool it's got some good attacks. I hope me and you don't battle anytime soon. " I said jokingly " FireTalon would be at a disadvantage.. although that didn't seem to matter too much in your fight. Anyway So whose the last trainer?"

"Ahhh, how refreshing." I said, stepping out of the shower.

I got dressed and grabbed some breakfast as I headed over to Prof. Oak's.

When I got there I saw a few friends, Matt, Jay, Jwar all fighting with thier pokemon and 7 other trainer that I think are from out of town all showing off thier monsters to each other.

Hmm... Guess I'm late...

I stepped up to the door knocking right as the door opened on Prof. Oak's face.

"...Hello Matthew..."

"Err!! Sorry professor hehehe!"

"Well, I should be the one sorry, I .."

"AHHH AHH!!! STOP IT!!" one of the girls in the larger group of people started screaming. "WILD ATTACK AHH HEEELLP!!!"

A tiny fireball was jumping around at all of thier pokemon, a few of them had gotten seriously injured.

"Pokeball go!" Professor Oak shouted as he captured that wild monster.

"Well then Matthew, I have a monster for you after all!"

"What do you mean? After all?"

"Well that doesnt matter now! Here you go. Oh yes! I allmost forgot your Pokedex! You know back when I was your age......"

I zoned out at that point, old people were allways doing this stuff.

"Matt! MATT! Are you listening?!"

"Yeah yeah I got you 15 miles in the snow, had to record stuff on paper. I know what you're saying."

"Then you know that I'm out of pokedex's!"

"WHAAA?!"

"As I was saying before you came too late! Everyone else had gotten thier monsters! But.. hmm... I wonder... Yes... It's been done before?"

"?!?"

"Here, take this. It's a new prototype, we call it the Pokedex!"

"Buh.. Uhh..."

"Here you go just set the registry and you'll be on your way!"

What a wierd looking pokedex...

It was flat with a small camera at the top, and it flipped out to the top and to the side with the screen in the center and the controlls on the right opening.(the pokedex from g/s)

I typed in my information and then registered my pokeball... when I realized that I had no clue what monster I had gotten.

"Allright then, Only one way to find out!"

"GO!"

I tossed down the pokeball releasing a tiny little puff of fur.

"Huhh!?!" I checked my pokedex

"**Growlithe! A dog pokemon, this fire-type monster can grow very large and eventually evolve into a humongous canine.**"

"Large... Hmm.."

Then my new companion jumped onto my face and started licking me to death.

"H-hhey! Stop that! That tickles! hahah!!!"

"Same color hair as me, well then, you're perfect for me!"

"Growl!"

"Hmm... I know... I'll call you Molly!"

"Grruf ruf!"

The smallest growlithe ever by my side, well size doesnt matter. How much the flames burn does.

"**Pokemon Update Status. Growlithe. Female. Molly. Techniques. 1. Tackle. 2. Ember. 3. Roar.**"

"Okay then Molly! LOOK OUT WORLD! HERE WE COME!"

"Grow row!" She jumped onto my head, as we joined the others engaged in thier fight.

((matyt, are you with us in pallet? cause if you are then you'd know that there is still a charmander, bulbasaur, squirtle, cyndaquil, chikorita udkip and a treeko left))

((Jay, are you reading my posts? Cause if you were then you'd know that I had 7 other people go get all those extra monsters because I wanted a growlithe))

((Jay lets just say they appeared unnoticed during your battle and while you were talking to me.)) I noticed Matt had just left Oak's lab, and had called out his starter. He walked over and I started a conversation. "Hey Matt. I see you got a Growlithe! Fire pokemon rock. I got a Torchic myself. Named him Fire Talon."

"ok...now that we're here...can we go now, i wanna get to veridian city!" i yelled as pikachu jumped onto my shoulder. it smiled as it looked to the other pokemon.

"yes, you should head out now, you'll have to go through the forest with a lot of pokemon in it. it would be a good chance to get used to your pokedex' and catch some nice pokemon. i wish you all the best of luck" prof. oak said to us. i headed out and waited at the front of the laboratory for the rest of my friends.

"Viridian City huh? Sounds like a plan. "

"You don't happen to know the way there do you? I havent been there in.. years.."


I thought about what prof. oak said a bit more

"Wait.. Catching other pokemon?? YOU GUYS HAVE EXTRA POKEBALLS?!" I said to my companions as we were about to move out


((sorry if i post infrequently during the weekdays))

"There's a pokemon center down this path." I looked at a fork in the road, making sure the path was right.
"Yeah, we'll pick up a map there and rest. Then we'll head to viridian city." I put the pokeballs on my belt. Only one was occupied of course.
"If we're lucky, on the way there we can catch some pokemon." I started to walk foward. Into the thick forest path.

I grinned and loaded my 6 poke balls onto my belt as well. "I have 10 total, so you can have my extra if you need some. When we get to viridian you can buy more." I took a deep breath then followed. "Dibs on the first pidgey!" I said happily.

Pikachu hopped on my shoulder and we walked off.

"come on guys!" i said as i put the pokeballs on my belt.

We walked down the path about a half a mile. "Hmm, I'm pretty sure it's close." I said, as I tripped over a rock and tumbled into the air. I landed hard on my back. "Youch!" I yelled, as I saw a geodude come up from the floor. "Oh.." I said as I realized it was what I tripped over.
"Guys, stay back, I wanna try to catch it!" I grabbed my only occupied pokeball. "Go, Totodile!" I yelled as the pokeball hit the ground and Totodile appeared.
"Water gun!" I hollered, pointing my finger foward. It was a direct hit, the burst of water hit Geodude right between the eyes, and luckily, since it was weak against water, it fell back in a daze. "Go, pokeball!" I yelled, happy I was able to say such a thing finally.
It shook slightly, and finally, the red light dimmed. "Bing.." It said, as it stopped shaking.
"YES!" I screamed, picking up the pokeball. "I'm the first one to catch my second pokemon! Ha!"

I raised my eyebrow at the others as we headed out on the expedition

"Ahhh well, I guess that's how it works."

"So, have any of you heard who the new gym leader in Viridian is? I heard there was another power struggle there?"

"i think the comission closed it for a while until they can find a stable gym leader" i said as i heard a pokemon cry. ''guys! something needs help!" i yeleld as i ran towards the sound. it was a young phanphy that was getting beaten by a group of beedrill. "pikachu thunderbolt the beedrill!" i yelled as pikachu jumped off of my shoulder and shocked the beedrill. i ran over to the phanphy and picked it up. it squealed in pain as i ran to the others. "guys we need to get to the city fast!" i yelled as i ran ahead to get to the center fast.

I stared at the shocked beedrill. Why waste a good opportunity? I threw a poke ball.
One. Two. Three. Ding! I rushed over and scooped up the ball. "I caught a Beedrill! I shall call him sting." Noticing Jay had run off to help the phanphy, I scooped up my prize and rushed after him. It wasn't a pidgey but it was a start.

As I ran down the path I said, "It's right down here, less then a quarter mile!" I looked at Heather, "A beedrill is a hard pokemon to catch. They are really stubborn pokemon, not very good at giving up. Your kinda lucky."

I ran down the road and into the center.

"nurse! nurse! we have an injured pokemon here!" i yelled as i put the phanphy on the desk. nurse joy came out and took the phanphy

"dont worry, we'll work on your pokemon right away" she said.

"but...its not...." i started saying as matt came up behind me.

"jay...you technically caught a wild pokemon...so it is yours" he said as i got a smile on my face. i jumped up and grabed matts hand and slammed him into the ground happily.

"YES! MY FIRST POKEMON!" i yelled as i saw matt laying there. "oops...sorry matt......"

"sorry....SORRY! YOUR NOT SORRY, YOUR ANYTHING BUT SORRY!" he yelled as he got up and pulled on my goggles then let go of them making them smack into my eyes.


((matt gave me permission to use him))

"Well, actually Pikachu did the work. I really don't like beedrill but to attack a pokemon and just leave them stunned without ever even trying to catch them is a bit of a waste. I do eventually want to catch them all and not just the cute ones or the ones that decide they like me." I shrugged as a ran. "Luck is not such a bad thing. We are lucky the rest didn't just get up and start attacking Jay and pikachu right? We are lucky they didn't decide to attack us."

I laughed, and then walked outside of the center, to look at the scenary. I heard a buzzing, that slowly became louder, and louder. I felt my stomach drop as I realized what it was. "Oh..no..!" I said, as I quickley ran inside and held the door shut. "You spoke to soon Heather!" The swarms of beedrill surrounded the center, one shot into the glass with it's stinger, and shattered a window. "Ahh!" I yelled, realizing we better take action. "Geodude, Totodile, GO!" I said, as I tossed the two pokeballs at the same time.

"FireTalon Sting! GO" I tossed my own poke balls. Out sprang Sting and Fire Talon, only sting didn't look to happy to see me. It buzzed menacingly "uh.. I think we will need more help to fight all these swarms." I said nervously. The Beedrill began flying at us.

One stinger jagged across the tip of my nose. "Yahh!" I said, flailing backwards. "Water gun em back Toto!" Immediatly, with child like happiness, Totodile shot a blast of water at the three beedrill surrounding me, throwing them tumbling through the air.
"Now Geodude, Punch them!" It in a tough-guy way tossed itself foward and punched two beedrill straight in their faces, they fell to the floor dazed.
"Both of you, finish the last one!" I yelled, as they used their best attacks and sent the beedrill reeling out the shattered window it came in from.

another group charged at me. "FlireTalon Ember! Sting tackle." FireTalon's ember hit two of them but sting merely turned his head and crossed his stingers." The third one went in for the kill. I turned around, covered my head and screamed"AAH FIRETALON PECK!!" just as The beedrill was about to hit Firetalon leapt up and smashed it away with it's beak.

The beedrill were somewhat of a problem it seemed. just as i was about to run ut the litle re eedle light above the care center turned off and i smiled.s oon as i went outside i grabbed a pokeball and threw it.

"COME ON OUT PHANPHY! YOU TOO PIKACHU!" i yelled as pikachu ran and phanphy poppedout of the pokeball. "wait..pikachu...come back, lets see phanphy in action" i aded. took out my pokedex and looked up phanphys attacks. ok! phanphy! rollout now!" i commanded and phanphy ran and curled up into a ball. he hit a group of three beedrill right out of the city almost. he kept going and hit another group. "ok phanphy! now use your tackle attack!" i commanded as phanphy ran into a group of beedrill and tackled about two at once. "ok pikacvhu, do some clean up work" i said as pikachu used his thunder attack on the beedrill.

Fortunately pikachu's attack had driven off the rest of the beedrill.
Unfortunately for me Pikachu had shocked my beedrill as well. Buzzing angrily instead of attacking Jay it charged for me.
"STING RETURN!" I shrieked grabbing it's poke ball just in time.
"That was close, maybe it was not such a lucky thing I caught that beedrill." I sighed. I wished to myself that I could have caught a pidgey instead..

"Alright guys, I guess we should stay here for the night. Our pokemon are probably pretty warn out, and either way, the next town in a sinch to get to from here. "
I looked at the pokeballs in my hand. "Nurse joy, I'de really appreciate it if you could let these rest." Slowly I sat down and grabbed a map, and a guide to all the towns. I had a good time planning some of our things to do, plus it wasted time.

i walked i nside and layed on the floor. phanphy was so cute and kind....he curled up and let me use him as a pillow as pikachu curled up next to me and fell asleep.

"we better get some sleep....we're heading into bug capital tomorrow....viridian forest and then we go to pewter city for our first badge battle" i said as i dozed off.
